Problems with the new Century UC-9?

I am no Uzi expert but I would get a refund and go to Vector which has the rep.

Or, if you want to save some $$$ buy a used Norinco - they are good shooters from all that I gather (I just bought one) just rougher finish.

But, I see myself getting a Vector in the future... CAI is so hit and miss...

This is all kind of a kick in the balls, 'cause I was told that the new UC-9 was the one using the new receivers that were so good and fixed all the problems in the old ones. I also heard that the Vector's were crap, though for the life of me now I can't imagine where i heard that will all the glowing reviews here.

The problem now is that the reseller won't give me a refund now that I have a different firearm (it's been replaced 3 times now and ALL have problems) and Century will only give me their cost in a refund (assuming they'll give me that). I got their UGO Ak, which performs flawlessly. I'm wondering if I should just trade this back to them for one of their bullpup WASR's or Galil's. Thoughts?

The Century guns ARE built on receivers that are better than the Vector (Group Industries) receivers. Unfortunately the assembly leaves a lot to be desired.

Hmmm, so it should be able to be made to work?

That was my assumption, but I also figured that once I sent it back to them and they paid direct attention to making it right, that it wouldn't come back with the stock and the grip/trigger assembly LOOSE!

Even after the other problems I figured once they went hands on it'd come back working right, but when I saw that they forgot to tighten up the parts they removed to work on it, I got a little scared to shoot it and find out if it is working.

Anyway, thanks for your input.

BTW, if anybody has an 'assembly manual' or the like for one of these, I'd love to see it. It looks like I've just 'got a screw loose' but I don't want to loosen or tighten anything without knowing what I'm working on! Thanks.

Anyone with a Century Uzi want to get a measurement for me?

I need the exact distance from the face of the barrel nut (muzzle side) to the tip of the barrel. This would be considered the total length of "exposed" barrel.

Thank you, could you do one with the silver end of the tape measure butted up against the front face of the barrel nut? And...give me the measurement? I can see the numbers, etc...pretty good in the pics, but a number would help to be sure.

Sorry, the photo wasn't as clear as I thought; the nut is 1 inch so the barrel itself is 8.5 inches...
