Good morning.
I'm getting the stuff together to try to make a complete receiver, dedicated for a pistol build. I already have a semi grip stick and semi bolt/striker setup from my carbine so I thought it would be neat to have a second receiver, dedicated as a pistol, and can just swap the SA guts out between them.
I can see there would be some technical difficulties with trying to salvage the stamped feed ramp potion of the cut SMG scrap receiver pieces, but are there any legal issues with doing it?
Ideally, I'd be using a SMG front stub and a repair section, so a take-off used SMG barrel would be way to go as well. I read the feed ramp page, it mentioned problems feeding HP's with the original style, but I'd be running cheap FMJ anyways.
Is the blocking bar in the receiver enough to be "kosher" for a complete receiver? I'd think I could ream out the bushing for the grip assembly to 9mm without a problem. But is the "restrictor ring" thing required by law?
