It goes against the mag well-you will need a little screwdriver with a notch cut in the middle of it, you will need to push the little loose ends of the spring under the trigger disconnect.

It's not 100% finished, just now realized I either lost or it never had one of the pistol grip screws, so will have to order one. Annoying as I just ordered a selector lever and sight tool, and they arrived today.

Might have to wait till next week to try it out. But it looks great, and feeds dummy rounds no problem.

Oh, and the folding stock latch is missing? not sure what it's called. There is a hole on the piece at the back of the reciever that it looks like should have a spring and a pin or something in it, but it's empty, and the stock does not latch open. Any ideas where to get the parts? RTG does not list them on their website (that's where I'd been getting the other parts).

The folding stock can be a bear if you don't do it the correct way. the parts you need can be had at DandD sales, best chance, then I'd try Numrich, Sarco, and BWE firearms. numrich or sarco also has schematics of all the parts on uzi's, so you can look to see if anything is missing.

You need the plunger, spring and cross pin which will cost you more with shipping than a surplus stock.

first off agi videos are a joke---most of them were made in the eighties and the quality is that of vhs.also from a somewhat novice they dont show as much as could have been showed nor do they give visual inspection of many parts or placement/building of said parts.i have some vids up on my youtube page that might give insight into such a reformation of ur said parts.i learned how to build a uzi off of comparing parts kits and internet inspection of parts placement.the uzi is a snap together gun such as a ar15.check my prof for youtube page and do a search on uzi diagrams that should help.

Got a very good IMI stock from RTG, but it does not match the color.

Also can't seem to be able to drive the pin out that's holding the parts together that I need to swap between the stocks. I'm trying to drive it out from the side that touches the back of the receiver toward the shooter, but it ain't budging. I went ahead and put on the surplus stock so that I can test fire it tomorrow.

Speaking of test firing the gun tomorrow, any precautions I should take? Do I need to tie it to a tire or tree and take the first few shots with a string?

How did the 1st trip to the range go?

The first magazine should only have one round in it. Fire it and check everything. Then 2 rounds and check everything again. Start adding more rounds a few at a time in case it goes full auto by accident, which is unlikely but you don't want to be spraying bullets everywhere if you aren't expecting it. I would suggest this after doing a function test and using dummy rounds. Good luck and happy shooting.

It went well. We have a target stand that is a 4x4 with two pieces of 2x4 with bolts and wingnuts that clamps together and holds cardboard targets, so I clamped the uzi in it for the first few rounds, and pulled the trigger with string. It worked, so then tried it by hand a few rounds at a time, and it worked great! Did manage to clamp the selector switch and break it Should've bought a metal one anyway, so I'll do that thiw week, and get it back to it's owner the next! Thank's for all y'all's help!

ummm...quick question: do you have to have the grip safety engaged in order to cock an uzi? or did I put something together wrong?

Yes. You have to engage the grip safety to cock the charging handle back. You did it right.

HOWEVER once the UZI SEMI-AUTO is cocked ( Firing pin back ) The selector can be placed on SAFE and the grip safety does not need to be squeezed to pull the bolt back to load or unload a round in the chamber.
