Hey fellow uzi people.

I have a question. I am relatively new to uzi so please bare with me.  :)  I see sometimes on the net and television certain "Chrome or Stainless Steel" versions of just the "Receiver and Muzzle break" for the "Micro and Uzi Pistol". Sort of giving it a two tone look. With the Top plate cover black, the receiver stainless and the pistol grip black with the muzzle break stainless as well. So  My question is this, Do they make Stainless Steel or Chrome Receivers and muzzle breaks for the "Micro and Uzi Pistol"? or is that like a custom finish job one must  do themselves or have sent away to a professional?

Thank you again for all your responses.

Somone had  a full size IMI on Gunbroker a few months ago that was a commerative edition Uzi that was chromed from the factory.  It definitely looked like a factory job and it came in a special case.  The seller had more details about the number made.

The one mentioned as chrome that sold on Gunbroker recently, also had some gold embellishments and was reputed to be some sort of "special edition" gun.  If there was only one or a million of these "special edition" guns made, no one knows.  Action Arms did not keep a record of such a gun, to my knowledge and there was no way I could verify it as authentic or I would have bid on it.

However, Action Arms did receive one shipment of Model A Carbines which were Nickel Plated and can be verified.  There was 100 of these Nickel guns sold in the U.S.  The folding stock, receiver, trigger housing and top cover are all Nickel plated.  Anything bolted on is not nickel plated, such as the sights, mag release, Cocking knob, etc.  Makes a very interesting two toned gun!

Interesting information!  I take it this is from an "Original Group Industries" spec. sheet?  Wonder how many they made in the satin chrome?  Vector got all of Group Industries registered receivers which is what they use to complete the guns they sell.  However, I know they only do parkerized or Action Arms style "paint."  It would be interesting to find out if they would do a "special finish" in chrome/nickle, etc.  Such a finish would be rather "pricey" on an existing gun, I would think.  An estimate from a company specializing in finishes might prove interesting.l
