Have an early model 1972/73 Ps M10/9. Gun is mint barely fired by previous Orginal owner and all the reciever holes are mint. I have it now and will be running a Max10/31k on it. Whats the census of welding in Receiver tabs? Needed/ not needed? What’s the hives thoughts? Thank you.

If you go with the tabs, your original upper will have to be machined also. I have one without tabs that I run that has no issues. From what I could research, some folks get the egging and some don't.

Not necessary. My PS M10 doesn't have them.

I did make a couple little spacers to help the slop on uppers cut for tabs.

I agree with leaving it alone. The tabs get egged mainly when the bolt slams home on an empty chamber. The sear/selector pin holes egg too, mainly each time you let off the trigger and the bolt engages the sear.

With an empty gun, while looking at the selector switch… pull/release the trigger several times. You’ll see some degree of movement on the selector once the gun has a few thousand rounds.

I‘d wait until one or the other is experiencing egged holes and have it all repaired and refinished all at once. The serial number/markings lose a little depth each time it’s repark’d.

I like the spacer idea. What material you think? Brass, aluminum or steel? Also did you adhere it to the upper or inside of the receiver? Thank you.

I used aluminum. I basically glued them in place. It's a little annoying to hold them in place while putting the pin in.
