Receiver wear??

Wear pattern developed rear of the ejection port on the receiver just below where the top cover sits on top of the receiver. Not real worried about the wear pattern. I can’t imagine what is causing this. I don’t think the top cover can drop down that far but then again I just don’t know.


Please advise,

Did it just develop during the time you had it, or was it there when you bought it?
It looks like the wear from mounting a optics mount.

I thought it developed from my use which was a head scratcher because I’ve not mounted anything that would wear the finish off the receiver in that area. After looking at some older pics I think the wear might have been there all along.

It’s hell getting old and becoming forgetful!

I'd hit it with a little cold blue if it was mine. Followed up with a light coat of oil, then it would hardly be noticeable, if at all. :)
