Has anyone ever tried repairing a magazine where the feed lips meet the back of a magazine? I found a guy who gave me a deal on 5 Suomi mags for $80 shipped, but it looks like one of them felt the wrath of the USPS soccer club. 1. Should I just try to bend it back into shape and remove any burrs?
2. Would a quick zap of weld, then clean it up with a Dremel be a better idea?
3. Write it off as a loss and avoid any headache?

Hi,

I'd put a few round in it and see if it runs. If it doesn't run, I'd attempt to bend it back into place a bit.

My opinion. Your mag. Be careful :)

Looks like the bolt smacked it.

Personally since its a different gun and the bolt probably won't smack it again I'd take the smallest crescent wrench or pliers and gently move it back towards home. Leave it split for now and use it. Personally I couldn't leave it bent knowing 10 minutes of easy time could make it a bit better.

Welding is fine if you have some fine files and don't mind making a 1/2 hour of it (if you have a welder).

They came in a pretty rough shape "priority" box. Frankly I'm surprised none of them fell out with the hole that was in the side. I guess I'll try giving it a bend back to normal without going too crazy, then give it a few load/hand unload cycles. Much like the problem of many other people on the forum: my MAC isn't home yet, but I'm in the process of getting everything squared away before its here.
