Here is the newspaper article with a picture of Sylvia Daniel handcuffed and escorted by an agent. Sorry for the poor quality, it is a Xerox copy. The text is not very legible I took the picture with my phone., If there is any interest in reading it, I can scan it tonight
I had a different one where she was handcuffed at the front, but I can't find it.

The other image is some of the MAC guys shooting up an old Ford at the sand pit in the 1970s. The late Don Thomas is on the far right.

After her arrest Sylvia Daniel had a 1 million dollar bond?
I haven't heard about that

I'd love to read it. I find all this stuff fascinating - especially since I live in Georgia. I was only 10 years old in 1985 so a lot of this information is totally new to me. It sounds like someone needs to write a screenplay for a TV series about the people involved with these guns back in the 80's - particularly Mitch Werbell and Wayne and Sylvia Daniel.

Wonder what the disposition of the case was?

If I remember correctly, their son Buddy Daniel took the fall for everything so that mom and dad wouldn’t lose their FFL, but I could be mistaken.

Here’s another intriguing article, I think I may have shared this one here before.
Robert Morgan was an interesting guy, Principal shareholder of RPB , and big drug smuggler. Eventually got busted and did 30 years in federal prison.

He was in charge of foreign sales for RPB to Haiti and the Dominican Republic and had an M11 operational briefcase with an embroidery of Haiti on it.

If you don't already have it get a copy of the MAC MAN book lots of MAC history and vintage photos

I scanned the article, I hope it is legible this site has a size limit on images. The building is the old SWD facility, Wayne Daniel told me they test-fired the guns behind the building. I took the picture in 2010, in the MAC Man book I removed the Sherwin William sign.SWD820.jpgTIME821.jpgswd lo res.jpg

I'm definitely going to order that book. Does it cover the founding of MAC all the way up until the chaos of the mid-late 80's?
Yes. It’s an excellent book. Covers every single detail of MAC/ingram history from the Ingram model 6 all the way through masterpiece arms. If you are interested in these guns it’s an absolute must have.

Lol I was picking up a parts order at SWD the day the raid happened, I remember walking up and somebody maybe a fed said it was closed, the loading dock doors were open and several employees were sitting handcuffed while they served the search warrant. It was all over selling suppressor parts kits. Feds alleged conspiracy with a couple of gunshow dealers for them to sell tubes through Shotgun News and at gunshows. Unfortunately for the feds at the time suppressor parts hadn’t been ruled as NFA so the conspiracy case fell apart with Wayne taking a misdemeanor rap for some minor bs thereby keeping his FFL. Just after the dismissal of charges was when ATF ruled suppressor parts also were NFA. ATF seized customer records from this raid too, and folks were jumpy for a while afterwards. Ah, those were the days…

Yep the seized customer records led to Wayne rebooting “RPB”, this time with no FFL, for accessories and parts only, and putting a major emphasis on how they don’t keep records.

The Ingram story began with an ATF raid and ended with the same. The Mac Man book documents the wild times of the Ingram history.
Very cool manual, one the very few that I don’t have in my collection. I highly recommended the MACMAN book as well. It’s a must for anyone interested in this stuff.

I wish I wasn't 10 years old in 1985 I would have been giving these guys a ton of business - especially since I was just a short trip up the highway living in Oakwood, GA at the time.

I'm a bayonet collector and recently came into one of the M11/9 Carbine bayonets. It has the unthreaded socket that secures with a threaded nut. However, the nut is missing from my example. It is pictured on my bayonet site at

M11/Nine Socket Bayonet

I wanted to obtain the correct size nut but am finding conflicting information regarding the threads on the carbine barrel. This thread indicates 5/8-24. The following thread indicates 9/16-18 https://www.uzitalk.com/forums/index.php?threads/m11-9-barrel-thread-question.55369/

I just wanted to confirm the correct thread for the nut. Any help is most appreciated.
