Just like in the art of fencing, an engineering genious needs two lifetimes. One to develop his skill and knowledge, and the other to let him use it. I know of too many men like this, and it is always a shame, because their talents and ideas usually go with them. Although I have never met the gentleman, I have discussed topics in the forums with him, and his unique outlook will be missed.

Vegas, my heart goes out to all you guys that knew Roger. I certainly will miss him. He was a class act. As an engineer myself, I appreciate his sense of humor, honesty and his skill. It came through in the few interactions I had with him.

I can only imagine the toll that events took over the last few years. I will miss him and wish we could have spent more time hanging out.

RIP Herr Pear.

Sorry to hear about this. Since he had a big collection of FN49's, was he active on the FAL board? If so, anyone know his user name there? I would probably have known him better from over there.
