Hi All,

A friend is thinking about selling his M10 and I am considering buying it from him to add a second Mac to my collection. I though it was just an RBP M10, but upon further inspection I noticed the SAP stamped before the M10 and Weapons Sec stamped on the underside of the receiver near the muzzle end of the gun. Correct me if I am wrong, but this is indicating that it was a semi auto gun that had been converted and registered. F4 says Weapons Specialties as the manufacturer.

Has anyone had any experience with these? Any known issues? What are they worth compared to a factory gun? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Take it out and test fire. You'll know right away...

Good Luck!

The answer to that is solely dependent on the buyer. I’ve passed on several because, for me, there is value in knowing its a factory built automatic. That said, if the price was really right...

Would not matter to me. If it works and the price is good I would buy it.
One of my Mac 10s is an oddball that was built from a flat and registered by a company here in Texas.

I have seen him shoot it several times and shot it once.

Does the fact that its converted make it worth any less then a factory gun?

Did they properly convert it by adding the selector switch or did they simply remove/alter the trip making it full auto only? Does it have a stock?

Overall if converted properly to RPB SMG specs it might be worth a little less but not by much. Might take longer to sell at the same price as a no-story gun but I wouldn’t let that worry me.

If you can post pictures perhaps one with the upper removed and looking at the fire control group we can give a more detailed response.

In the title 2 world the only thing that matters is the stamp. Everything else can be fixed.

It does have a selector and a stock. He has a AR15 stock adapter on it right now, but also has a wire stock too.

I will try and see if he can send me a few pictures.

I wouldn't worry about it to much as long as it goes rat a tat tat ...

You mentioned it's a 2nd MAC so that should ease it up a bit too being you already have one depending on what gun you currently own.

Also you might just be getting the "friends" price also EI: a bit lower then what he would offer to a stranger or on the internet.

If I wanted it and it was a OK price why not? just use it for a daily shooter and take care of it.
It won't lose value.

Like others have said, I wouldnt care if its converted as long as it shoots. Especially if he would knock a few bucks off for a friend...

Don't forget, you'll also save a little since you can Form 4 directly from him to you (assuming you live in the same state), you won't have to pay for shipping and you don't have to worry about sending a large sum of money off with nothing to show for it while hoping for the best.

Thank you all for the replies and insight. I will post back here if we can strike up a deal and let everyone know how it worked out.
