I’m holding an M16 until the heir of the deceased owner gets probate finished on the estate, and he said he thinks he wants to sell it. Just the complete lower, no stock or barrel. It was over stamped by Small Arms Weapons of Nashville, TN. I have the firmn4vwhere it was transferred to his Dad in 1988 but that’s all I know of the gun, and the heir is only 30 years old with little knowledge of the gun. I’m trying to establish a value for this, searches don’t bring up anything current but it seems they sold for $19-21K a few years ago. The receiver is in decent condition and the internals look good. Any ideas to it’s value?

Value also depends on the receiver ....Is it one of the proper A1-spec receivers, or the earlier milled version.

The earlier style of lower seems to take longer to sell, and usually goes for a tad less. I can tell you from experience that the early style receivers (SGW/Palmetto/Frankford) were the reason KNS anti rotation pins were invented

Huh. I though those KNS pins were put on there so you could tell an inexperienced shooter, "Put your trigger finger on that bar, and don't move it off there until I tell you to."
