I just finished my M11 project that I have been working on for a while. I created a custom M11 with a suppressor inside a handguard. To do this I had to get a custom barrel made and a handguard adaptor for 308 handguards. I then shadowed it with some of the essential parts that I may need on a trip to the range.

As a result of putting my pelican case together I have a couple of extra items. I was thinking of getting rid of my Beta drum project. (I have it for sale for $150 in the classifieds.) I also have 1 extra finished handguard adapter and a couple unfinished for 308 handguards.

It was a great project. I think that the case turned out pretty nice to. The one with the Max-31 in it was one that I made for my dad, and I will be shooting the one that is suppressed.

Thanks for checking it out.

Nice! I think the Cobray logo on the Suomi drums was a neat touch. Great job.

What did you use to trace and cut the foam in your pelican case?

Notice that Jack's first photo shows the white chalk outline he drew around the pieces, and the second one does not. If you do your drawing/layout in reverse on the BACK SIDE of the foam and also cut it from the back, then the visible side won't show the marks and will look much cleaner. I mark it that way with a simple black Sharpie.

This is the *best* tool I've found for easily cutting foam in Pelican, Seahorse, or similar cases: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000AY38R

Blades are close together, and they are configured with a point (most electric knives are not) that makes it easy to do plunge/starter cuts.

I used just plain old chalk. I left the lines in to show the tracing. I take compressed air and blow the chalk away when I am finished. It is the best thing that I found for cutting the cases out. The case is a 1750.

To cut the foam I take a small hole saw with an electric drill in reverse and cut right through the foam. If you have the drill going in the normal direction for a drill bit, it will wind the foam up and tear it apart. Once I have a hole, I feed a hot wire through it and cut. The hot wire makes the cleanest cuts I have seen. The knives do ok, but as you can tell on the far right magazine hole, they are not as precise.

THANKS.....I used the reverse/electric knife method and it turned out OK, but not as clean as yours.

Nice looking Jack! I have one of those wire cutters from a long ago project with insulation foam. I guess you have to disconnect/reconnect the wire through the starter hole?

Yes, I had to make a starter hole and then reconnect the wire. Kind of a pain, but worth it in the end.

Sorry about the drum, I sold it a while ago.

Glad you all liked the outcome. As you do them, you learn tricks, and they keep looking better and better.
