Anyone talk to Sam of late about these? I was wondering if there is any ETA at this point?

Call him and ask him. He doesn't update his website. Let him know you want you want one. When they are available he'll give you a call. I had him do three conversions of side cocker uppers last year. I really like them. The handle goes back to the forward position after you cock the gun.

If you guys don't mind me asking, is there something special about Sam's Side Cocking Uppers that make them worth waiting for? Several of the popular websites mentioned on this forum also sell them (i.e., US Machineguns, just to name one).

What about MPA Side Cockers? Are they plug and play on the M11/9?

I'm asking because I also want to get one for my M11/9 and I don't know who to buy it from. I want one with a rail to mount a red dot or other sight, along with a Lage M11-22 kit. I've read that people send the uppers to Richard for barrel alignment and tuning? Is this required to make them reliable?

Thanks,
Gunman

PS uppers are spring loaded so the charging handle returns to the forward position.

I ended up getting an upper from Tick Bite Supply, because I didn't feel like waiting for the Practical Solutions uppers. My side cocker doesn't have the spring for the charging handle, but that actually doesn't bother me at all. The charger handle stays forward anyway because of the bolt cycling.

I want the spring loaded charger for my Lage 22 kit. The regular side charger already caused a small amount of damage to the side of the 22 bolt.

I saw a different thread where you mentioned Tick Bite Supply. The SC upper you got from them is an MPA, right? Their website shows out of stock, but I emailed them a couple weeks ago and they said they had some.

Only the PS uppers have the spring? Otherwise you cock and just push the handle forward?

Thanks

Yes but the charging handle will move a little. That's what caused the problem with my 22. If your running a standard m11/9 bolt it's not an issue, or at least hasn't been for me.

bruh44 - I want to run the Lage 22 kit on an SC upper also. Sounds like I should call Sam and see if there's a waiting list I need to get on. Thanks for sharing your experience!

There isn't a waiting list. He will be selling g just the replacement charging handle in a few months. That way you won't need to get the whole upper.

I've run many thousands of rounds with a Tickbite/MPA SC upper and Lage 22 conversion. No misalignment, no issues at all. None. Sure there is an arc in the bolt but it doesn't affect anything.

Yeah I believe it's MPA. And yeah, you just cock it and then push the handle forward. It's something you don't even think about though, you just do it .

I'm not sure how the spring would help in that instance? I have noticed that the charging handle does peen the metal on the 22 bolt slightly, but it doesn't seem to be causing any issues and it's not getting any worse over time. I could be missing something, but I don't see how adding a spring would have any effect on that. (EDIT) Is it because the bolt can't actually reach the charging handle when it's in the full forward position?
