Hi guys, just bought a Sig Sauer MCX Spear in ,277 Caliber. Nice weapon, bit heavier than an M16/AR15 but I wanted it because it is the new rifle the Army is using. When I was with my old company at Ft. Campbell KY they had an arms roof full of them. Ammo is expensive but we are hoping it comes down and more people use it.

Is all the reported negative issues with the Sig rifle (pre 320 drama) true or just haters hating? Recken they could of just kept the 7.62 Nato?

Hi Galil#1, I believe it is just the haters. I own more than a couple of Sig weapons. Almoist every gun owner I know has their favorite gun manufacturer. I like the weapon. I want to get to a larger outdoor range to see how it shoots at a dustance.

There was a 2,000 round test of one of these on The Tube of Yous. It was very interesting when they made the gun more chosely resemble the Army configuration, how much that improved the shooting experience. Congratulations, that is quite a firearm. I am envious.

Very cool! I think the only actual negative for the gun that I have heard that doesn't show up on a spec sheet (which is then a matter of preference) is issues with the handguard mounting. I think A&S may be referring to Brass facts video on it. He mounts lasers for NV, so the handguard was a big deal for him.
What is your barrel length? How is the recoil and concussion? Or are you running it suppressed?

Sorry for delay. Was overseas for a month. Barrel is 16 inch, will pick up supressor on Wednesday. It has a bit of recoil and it is biggest cartridge I have fired. Hope to get to outdoor range to see how it shoot at a distance.
