So are longer than 50 round stick mags possible?

Very cool. Post pics of the linked rounds.

When I made a few M11 beta towers, the linked rounds for the Colt or MP5 were not compatible with the PAM2 mags or the ZMAGs. At that time the BetaCo did not make the expanding Glock linked dummy rounds.

Hey Garrett, you seem to be one of the only one's who regularly shoots a TASK setup. Have you been able to compare it side by side with a CFW setup? I'd be interested in hearing your comparison of the two.

beta will sell you the parts from the glock kit seperately without the body. The large link dummy pair and short case dummy work together to deal with the taper for single feed. I tried it last week, it works.

Wow you are right. He is using the combo of 3 Betaco systems (colt, Mp5 and glock) to work with the SF mag. Great way to save on aluminum dummys by combining empty brass cartridges.

I have not. It would be interesting to try.

He sent me this pic the other night.

There will be one more drum available after I pick mine. We will test them both and the video of the other drum will be used to sell it which if functional I’m sure won’t take long to find a buyer. He’s got a machine shop so I’m there in the morning which gives us the day to tinker.

Hey guys I had seen the 72rd Suomi C&S Metal Werkes drum on here last year and I had done a google search and found a super old listing on Sturmgewehr for one, messaged the guy and he still had it! He was asking $700 but I ended up paying $510 shipped for it. A little steep but I figured I could always get my money back out of it because they are rare.

It's ran great with the FN 147gr I've ran through it. I love pairing it with the 1700rpm speed block.

I think it would be awesome to get a group buy if we could get them built. I just called and left a message with C&S Metal Werkes and see what they say.

I emailed Beta Mag Co. last week, asking if they were ever going to make a Tower for the current 9mm Beta's, and their reply was "its's under consideration" I think if enough of us would do the same, maybe the would see the potential of sales they would have....just saying! Below is a Text version of the email.

Sent Beta a email as well. Maybe they will produce them. I image the market is pretty stale on $300 mags. I think opening them up to the M11 market would be a big deal for them. Most guys that have MGs dont mind spending the cash on good mags.

I also sent F5 manufacturing a email as well. They make mags for X products and also make their own house brand which is much cheaper. Only 50rd mags tho.

The X-Products style mag might be a better way to go. I have a couple Uzi Beta Mags, and they’re somewhat cumbersome (although I have successfully used them at the KCR subgun match).

The single drum setup is shorter than a stick mag of similar capacity, and not as awkward as a double drum setup.

Having said that, I would probably try to buy a tower and convert one of my Uzi Betas if one became available.

Bought 800 rounds of Winchester White Box for testing Monday.

Got a smattering of other brands I’ll bring as well. Doubt we’ll shoot that much but I’ll surely have the ammo for it incase it turns into a day-long blast session.

Might need to order pizza.

surefire has those 60 and 100 rd mags

For an m10/m11? Nope, which is the topic of this thread.

Tempted to make a mag splice for the macs just like is available for the uzi.

Splicing two 50rnd Zmags together with a cheap adapter and spring plate wouldn’t be too much effort.

I’m already on course to buy either/both this beta and Strobro’s artwork but after that I think some 3D CAD is in order.

Very interesting day. Lot of MAC projects that are ingenious being fleshed out.

Several Lage uppers, several cfw bolts, complete 100% tungsten bolts made himself, and more.

All used as research and testing for things nobody’s thought of yet. I was glad to see it.

The m11 in the middle once belonged to Wayne Daniels which (to me) is beyond neat.

The 12 gauge gave me a blister, and then ripped the blister off. Beastly.

Now, on the topic of the drums. Several are made and they do run, but like everything MAC if you change one variable, then they don’t run. For example, if it runs with my stock bolt, swap in a cfw bolt and it won’t run. Also, all shooting was done with hollow point reloads because the 800 rounds of WWB was unusable. The crimp was so extreme that the case neck deep throats the rifling so the firing pin wouldn’t get a hit.

Also, the drum that worked fine in his with a Lage (long gap) feedramp didn’t work in mine. The PAM2 feedlips had to be trimmed back (like in the PAM2 mag tutorial) to work better in mine. Other MAC issues such as my mag catch needing a sharper ledge as it was getting rounded over time, etc made it a tinker session but in the end I happily paid as its pretty good and with quality roundnose factory ammo it should be 100%

During testing:

After more testing, 147grn hp reloads. Keeps up with the fast stock upper.

The other drums I believe he’s going to mod similar to mine which should make them pretty reliable in guns set up similar to stock. In the end, just like with Zmags, cfw bolts, uppers, you may need a little work to make it work in your particular gun.

They must be. I just watched Scarface again last night and every MAC 10 and Uzi they were brandishing had a seemingly endless supply of ammo even though they looked like your standard 30 round mags.

Splice 2- 50 round zmags together end to end. Not hard to CAD design a junction block and a plate that both springs can press against. Would take me maybe 3 days before ready to print.

I haven’t bothered yet.
