I must admit, I thought it was going to finish soft ~ $1450.

If they have a carbine upper, I suppose it's worth the premium for the SAC lower. I dunno.

I see Vulcan and MPA 45s breaking 1k, so all bets are off.

And $1600+ so far on a "Navy" limited ed. Leatherwood semi with the phony stock. Hard pass. Sure wish I'd have snapped up a few of these "useless, cheap pieces of crap" back in the late 90s.

Gawd, I remember staring at the Sarasota newspaper as a young man, and seeing automatic PS 45s listed for $400 with the cans. (And thinking it was $200 too much...bahahahaha.)

I told the guy about it when he listed. He didn’t care. This happens 5 times a week with CM11/9 carbines that have been converted into pistols at some point… I wonder if it’s converted to full auto too, I’ve seen plenty of those on GB as well over the last few years of collecting lol

I have seen a few of the replica flats that were built-up sell on GB, and even one with the selector installed. It's crazy that collectors seem to know more than those who enforce the laws.

In almost every instance, the seller did not give a rat's ass. The one with the selector got pulled, also, but I'm pretty sure someone messaged the seller for an off-line deal to avoid a paper trail.

I know my FFL would have confiscated the gun, called the ATF and turned it over. I watched him saw a 3-hole MAK 90 in half with a dremel. Full chinese selector markings, too.

I mean, a legit Chicom F/A AK is almost impossible to find. I told him he should have sawed it lengthwise and mounted half like a deer head, but he was cursing the buyer and dremelling away at the rifle as fast as he could! He would not even let me have the hunk with the selector markings! Slapped it in a hefty bag and called the feds to turn over the remains.

As for "converting" and RPB OB, I never understood why people did it. It does not require any conversion at all, and that is one of the reasons Uncle Sham put the kabash on the design in 1982.

🙄 you need to find a new FFL that’s not a complete fudd….

As for the built up guns… there is one seller on GunBroker that sells a lot of this kind of stuff that has sold quite a few of the welded up SMG frame kits, with obviously bogus engravings on them, cut down and advertised as “Demills” in “repair parts kits”… he’s been selling them like that now for the last couple years… makes me wonder if they even bother looking at this stuff at all on GB.

I have seen an RPB SSM11 single shot pistol that had been turned into a title I semi auto open bolt on gunbroker, it had a straight pin instead of a selector switch. Didn’t see the internals but I imagine it was an SMG that slipped through the cracks and replacing the straight pin with a selector would have been all it took.

Here’s one of my favorites I found while browsing old auction listings. They even included the full auto conversion manual. I think it’s crazy that this not only made it past the FFL that took it in to sell it, but that it also probably made it past the FFL that did the transfer for whoever purchased it. Looks like they even engraved it with selector markings…
