The assemlbed rifle showing the left hand side change lever. Note the retaining pin going through the body and the rifle receiver with the rifle sling loop.

Why is there so much wear on the stock and finish. These rifles as I understand were never issued to the SA Army. Is this correct? Thanks for sharing. I remember reading about the CR21 years ago. I like the sight.

You are correct, these rifles were never issued to the SA Army.

Some of these rifles made their way to the SA Parks Board. This specific rifle came from a nature reserve and the rifles were used in anti-poaching operations. Thats why she shows wear on the body. The internals are still in good condition. It seems she was carried alot, but not shot alot.

Andy is it true that the newer semi auto rifles laws require you to have the "SEMI-AUTO" clearly stamped on the safety selector or somewhere clearly seen on the rifle? I saw some of the newer Nobleteq made LM's with this stamped on the ejection side safety lever. Will they make you stamp this eventually on your CR21 or are you safe from these rules due to the age of your CR21?

Lou, that is not true at all. There's no requirement like that.

Hi Lou

What WCC said.

There is no legal requirement along those lines. I think it is a choice Nobleteq made to include on the safety lever.

Ady, thank you for this post it has been very helpful in assembling my CR21. Here are some pictures of the components on the inside, I am sure that now that I have my shell together that I will not be splitting it apart again.

It is my pleasure ljspoon. I am happy that you got something out of this thread. That is what it was intended for and also to have a record and a piece of history online about these rare rifles. There isn't much information out there about them.

Thank you for adding to it.

I may have stumbled upon a CR21 stock. No idea how complete the rest of it is. If its almost all there except a receiver I may do a conversion of an AK.
Lot of interesting things to consider based on these pictures.
