If you all don't get barrel's made, I have a New (blued) Reising barrel (no comp installed) just threads for one.

Because of what I have in it, I gotta have $475.00 for it shipped!

So, we're still looking for a third for Tony's plan? I couldn't quite tell from Garrett's response if he's interested or not.

I've already got the Octane 45 HD on order, so now I have to do this Reising thing. Yes, I need to spend more money to justify spending the money I already spent. :)

Cheers,

Sorry, I've got to sit this one out for now. Too many other projects around the house that have to get done first.

No worries, Garrett. It doesn't take long for projects to stack up. :)

Tony - was the 3 barrel threshold pretty firm? Would they do it for two?

Essentially at the three barrel threshold, he's breaking even on the tooling (he'll make no profit at 3, but he gets free tools) I imagine if we can't find a third, I'll just pony up for a second barrel, and hope to find someone who needs it later on.

I'm leaving the country in a few days, and wont be able to coordinate everything before I leave I don't think, so how about this:

We'll look for someone as a third for the next month, and if when I get back, no-one has stepped up, We'll make the order anyways, and I'll just order two to make sure my guy breaks even.

ETA: He's pretty quick, so I expect about 4-6 week turn around from the time we place the order. That would put the barrel in my hands months before the can to go with it, and possibly a bit before the rising even arrives... If others are just ordering their cans now, unless they're an SOT, the barrel should be in your hands long before the form 4 clears.

That sounds like a plan. I can ask around here locally, too, to see if any of the local Reising owners would be interested in something like this.

You won't have to hold on to it for long, I'll post for layaway on the 3rd barrel. Tapped at the moment, but I'm in.

Sounds like a plan. I'll let him know we'll be taking 3 but wont be ready to make the order till around the first of March.

Just to Clarify, are we going for 5/8 x24 or .575 x 28?

Although I imagine we can mix and match if needed...

I'd prefer the 5/8x24 since that's what SWR recommended for use with the fixed piston. My FNX-45 Tactical has the .575x28 threading, so I'll be getting that piston as well. I think the 5/8x24 is more standard for .30 cal rifle suppressors, so it's probably a threading that will be a bit stronger for full auto use?

well if the order isn't going in until march I might be interested in one just to have as a spare.

Works for me.

We'll call the cut-off date at March 5. I hate being in charge of this kind of thing, because there are inevitably things that go wrong and make it a headache, but I'll take the lead, because I want it badly enough for myself.

I tend to agree that 5/8x24 seems like a better choice, but I wanted to make sure we were all on the same page.

As it sits now the barrel will:

Be profiled and finned the same as the sample that I'm sending the machinist. It's a 14(?) fin barrel that I'm sending as a sample (My gun is 28, but I don't have a spare 28 to send to be copied)

Be threaded the same at the breach end, and have a 5/8x24 thread on the muzzle end.

Have a new compensator threaded 5/8x24 that will mimic the original, but be stronger.

Be in the white (The machinist doesn't have blueing and parking tanks) This is fine by me, since I want mine blued, and I suspect others would prefer parked. (I know this is an added cost, and I apologize, but I still think the machine work etc makes this a good deal)

The price should be $300 + shipping (probably $20 or so)

Anyone who's interested, please PM me, and I'll maintain a list. I'll ask for half of the money when I place the order on the 5th, and I'll cover the balance until the barrels are in my hands, then ask for the balance, and ship them when the balance arrives.

Wonder who I'm gonna get to put it on for me
Maybe someone has a park tank and can park the ones that need it

Not trying to hijack the thead but interested in the barrel if you still have it. Thanks.
