I could see how a slight increase in friction using Recon ord (single feed) mags could cause some problems. However, I have had the opposite experience with Wolf...before I had the feed ramp slightly bent on my Max-11 DF (this mod increased reliability 100% with all ammo) the only thing it would shoot was Wolf 9mm. Also something to consider is the OAL of the cartridge..Wolf has a OAL of around 1.16" and WWB 1.14". This slight increase in OAL may not leave enough fore/aft clearance in some mags. This could also increase friction as the nose of the bullet rubs the front of the mag (especially a 70-80 rnd stick)....the biggest benefit to Wolf 9mm is cartridges resistance to any distortion...such as having the bullet being pushed into the casing, this is issue with my BRP STG-34K using stick mags. You may also increase overall feeding reliability with any ammo by using a quick spray of Silicon or dry lube (Richard Lage tuned me on to JIG-A-LOO..Home Depot) to a few boxes of loose ammo. Anyway I have had really good luck with Wolf 9mm in all my Subguns...and is my primary ammo if not using reloads.

I run nothing but Wolf and some 147 brass through my Max-11. It's like 90+ percent Wolf though. No issues. I agree it pays for it's self over the life of the gun.

So far Wolf ammo hasn't raped my dog and shot my wife while pistol whpping my mother.........

I've run .45 ACP Wolf in my 10/45 with a Lage upper and lots of 9mm Wolf through my FS/FA Vector Uzi. Only issue I have is that I shoot it all up and have to go for more!

Wolf .45ACP isn't hot enough to run my Lage unit. I have to use Winchester White Box if I want 100% reliability.
For everything else, the Wolf runs just fine.

I have had my M11/9 since 2001 and have never used anything BUT Wolf and never had a single problem. I wouldn't bother buying a separate bolt. The steel ammo thing is hyped up way too much.

Look at it this way, Marines42 has saved enough running Wolf to buy a whole 'nother upper, probably many times over.

Approached another way. Unless you reload, there is no reason to buy brass cased ammo.
I've been using Blazer with excellent results in my handguns for years. Because the round can go off before fully chambered when used in an open bolt gun, aluminum ammo like blazer isn't a good idea. Its good to hear that steel cased ammo will work well.

Does wolf make a 147 gr 9mm for use with a suppressor?

What is cost vs brass? I am looking on gunbroker, and it doesn't appear to be that great of a deal when compared to 1000rds of brass vs steel.

From the prices I have seen it is a no better deal than brass cased ammo. Sportsmansguide had it for approx $198 a case and ammoman $239 shipped. I reload but 9mm brass is pretty plentiful in my neck of the woods so that is not a real issue with me.

I forgot to mention that I had sprayed the Wolf rounds with silicone. I do it all the time but it wasn't enough to overcome the extra friction of the Wolf casing for my combination of steel mag and MAX-11. I think Wolf might work better if I used a Zytel mag. Frankly, I prefer the Zytels (with steel lip inserts) to the steel mags. For me they load easier and I suspect would be easier for the MAX-11 to strip the Wolf rounds out of the mag. I might try it. Wolf is still cheaper where I live than any of the brass rounds. BTW, I know lots of folks hate the Zytels and prefer the steel mags. It's OK, I'm used to being different and having different experiences from everyone else. The thing I have in common here is that I do love the Lage upper and it works great with most of my ammo!

No additional wear on the chamber or feed ramp? What is the benefit? Prices must've been much better? It appears I can buy brass ammo for the same price currently.
