Sten Magazine Tool???

I read an article about the Sten MKII today and in the article it was mentioned that a

lot of the problems with the magazines centered around the feed lips and a " TOOL "

that could be used to adjust the feed lips. I haven't seen any pics of this tool and are

they easy to find and buy?

There are at least two tools, one that works from the inside and one from the outside. The inside one would be the most useful because you can use a hammer for the outside. Plus there is a gauge or two. I'm just going from memory. They come up now and then. Unless you have a lot of mags with big problems it's probably not worth buying one. If you're into having lots of accessories or you are a gunsmith then you might want to get them. I don't have any firm market data but you're probably looking at spending $200-500 depending on the tools and gauges.

If you have mags with issues just look up some tutorial and use your pliers and hammer to tweak them.

The mandrel (inner tool) doesn't work well without the "hammer" (outer tool). The outer tool works well without the inner BTDT.
I have a mandrel and was able to borrow and measure the hammer. There are at least two people looking at making them based on my drawing but nothing has moved beyond the thinking about it stage

Gauges are plentiful and very useful BRP and possibly Marstar in Canada should have them but IDK about importing from Canada these days

Why won't the inner one work with just a hammer? I'm assuming small adjustments not reworking a major mess. I've corrected several of mine with just a pair of pliers and a ball peen hammer.

I have found that the mandrel and a hammer is more work and somewhat less effective than pliers, hammer and a gauge it setting the lips. OTOH using just the borrowed female tool (the mandrel is Sten length and too short for 50 round mags) I was able to adjust the lips on 2 recalcitrant Lanchester mags almost instantly. The paired tools fixed a few marginal Sten mags as well. Then I returned the female tool to its owner
