They tend to be high here in Massachusetts as they continued the assault weapons ban after it expired in most of the rest of the country, so you can't buy one unless it was in MA before the 94 ban and you could never buy any of the replica models. That being said, they were $1500 a year ago, tend to go 2 grand now and the local shop that tends to be a better deal than others has one for $2500 no accessories! Just found one on northeastshooters, new in box from 94 and in MA ever since - guys is nuts looking for 4k!

Good ol' dumb Americans. Gotta love 'em. High demand equals high prices but...why?

ESPECIALLY in the case of the IMI Uzi, when no more Uzis besides crappy clones were imported long before the ban expired in 2004, does anyone think the existing IMI models are therefore worth more now, facing a new ban? Hello, logic? The exact same number of IMI Uzis will be here whether there is a 2013 ban or not! There won't be less! Same for all models that weren't re-imported after 2004. AA Galils, HK91/93/94, etc etc.

This is especially true for AR15 buyers. Millions were brought to the market after 2004. And right now they are all going for huge markups, and why? Even if a ban is enacted on new ones, there will be literally millions available. Millions, people. Millions to choose from. But hey, run out and pay double now!!!

There MAY be a ban on new imports/production, but not a confiscation of existing weapons.

AR15s and Uzis are not diamonds.

Personally I am going to laugh--hard--if the ban doesn't pass. All those happy gun shops and all those sucker buyers. They're probably the same ones who buy their stocks high and sell it low.

I think it is also panic buying, people are worried that some guns will not be available. Who knows what Obama will do, he is very liberal and if Fienstien had her way their would probabley be confiscation of "assault weapons". So that unknown fear is driving gun prices and sales through the roof. It sucks because I was in the market for a few new guns for my collection and have been looking, and now everything is twice as much.

Thank God we have the NRA or are guns would probabley already be gone, or we would end up like the folks down under, (no semi-auto of any kind).
