I always fit each trigger to the safety. I printed a jig. But I just haven't had a chance to test it. It is a pain to grind, install, remove, repeat.

Remember to round over the back of the trigger enough to barely let the cam pass through the lower with the trigger installed. Don't rely on the jig. It saves a lot of trouble to do this fitting without installing the reset until it's right.

I just watched this video. It's well done but the whole time I just kept thinking that if that was me using those tools like he was that the white table would be covered with blood from my fingers. That guy has skill.

I guess I better try an FRT super safety.

Strobro, would you say that your pistol has a regular chamber or a tight chamber? I have a 22LR AR-15 from Tactical Solutions and it's got a tight chamber that doesn't like to feed a lot of kinds of ammo.

I don't think any of my 22 kits have a tight chamber. I've only ever tried CCI RN ammo.

My 4.5" pistol is a rarity. I was surprised it ran that well unsuppressed. I wanted to try it because CMMG made a Han Solo pistol they sold for $1000 and every one said it didn't work. :) I would like to get a dedicated lower for it but I'm working on other things right now.

The 22 kits can be challenging with the SS and shorter barrels. I included a spread sheet of know recipes in post 358.
I'd start with a 9" or longer barrel.

The biggest problem is bolt bounce which results in dead trigger, live cartridge in chamber, hammer up.

My 22LR SS kit just keeps getting more reliable as time goes on. I actually just shot 1200+ rds without a failure of any kind. That blows my mind considering 22LR has a failure rate of at least 1%.

1200 rounds is beyond impressive. I seem to get at least two 'dead primers' in every box of ammo that I shoot unless its Eley or some other target grade ammo that I wouldn't shoot in a FA or such type firearm.

I'm going to have to study your build list.

I just got done updating this post for you. Enjoy!

For maximum reliability with 22LR start with a 9" or longer 22LR barreled upper.

Here's a spread sheet for other peoples success with 22LR.
Is anyone running a RightToBear.com dedicated barrel/bolt unit? https://www.righttobear.com/rtb-dedicated-22lr-conversion-kit-9-barrel/

These look exactly like CMMG's sets. I'm guessing they are. But does anyone know?

I did see the last entry on the spreadsheet appeared to be a RTB dedicated upper.

CMMG dedicated barrel and matching bolt with collar are great components and they cured all my M16A1 full auto problems. I’m sold on CMMG.

RTB apparently carries a lot of the same stuff at a significantly lower price than does CMMG or JoeBobs.

Thanks for the input; 9” barrel and bolt from RTB incoming.

Don't forget the GMR SS, CMMG stainless FA bolt weight, the Bore Buddy adjustable SS trip, BB buffer plug and BB 22LR ambi charging handle is a very nice choice.

I just completed 5200 rds and my firing pin spring broke.

It seems to be getting more reliable every time I take it out.

5200 rounds? That's incredible performance.

Almost one year into this thread.

Mishmash of milspec FCG parts, Anderson Manufacturing lower, $189 PSA Black Friday upper + FA BCG... ran like a top. Easily pulling singles, bursts, etc and it's pretty darn cool.

I expected more trigger slap, but nope. Nadda. I think the motion from recoil kinda negates it.

Anyhoo, thanks Strobro!

Edit- 5.56/.223, not 22lr

Awesome! They are a blast! I think the recoil does play a roll in the smoothness. But mainly I think it has to do with the design being basically a cam. I have a WOT, nd that style of design has. Lot of trigger slap.

By “Mak91 adapter” does that mean that the Am-180 drum to AR 22lr adapter is for sale? If so I really need one
