The .22 kit requires a trip for the Super Safety, but it's not the F/A trip offered from the kit maker. Both Grey Market Research and BoreBuddy offer .22 kit trips for the Super Safety. The GMR .22 trip is printed plastic and the BoreBuddy .22 trip is metal.

In his awesome Youtube video, Alaska_Shooter uses:

PSA Lower
RTB/CMMG 9" barrel dedicated 22 upper
Bowers CAC-22 suppressor.
BD mags and drum
GMR weight kit with the 2 large W weights ( He was not sure about this but hopefully he will let us know)
Borebuddy adjustable Super safety trip kit
GMR super safety
ROF- 1001 RPM

Right now I'm at 90-95% reliable in 22LR with:

Anderson pistol lower (make sure the lower has a low shelf, where the pocket behind the selector shaft is lower than the selector shaft)
Borebuddy dedicated 4.5" upper
Borebuddy (steel/aluminum) adjustable Super Safety trip kit
GMR Super Safety
SWR Spectre II suppressor
CMMG stainless bolt weight
15-22 mags
15-22 AR22 magwell clip
CCI MM 40 gr RN
ROF= 1075 RPM

There should be no movement in the bolt carrier group. To help this goal, I removed the set screw that secures the BCG collar to the barrel extension groove. I drilled a deeper dimple in the bottom of the barrel extension, and used a 1/8" longer set screw to securely connect BCG and barrel.

Mag dumps can get interrupted but at least the trigger resets so I just need to pull the trigger again. To keep from wasting the live round left in the chamber during an firing interruption, I pop the upper open and re-cock the hammer.

Without the CMMG stainless bolt weigh, I get bolt bounce and dead triggers from hammer follow.

I think with a 9" -12" barrel would improve reliability.

Another goal is to use only metal parts in the system.

I'm still messing with it. After watching many youtube videos I think the key to reliability is longer barrels.

The bore buddy adjustable trip has a micro screw to do the adjustment. Very poor design. Used thread lock and their micro set nut and it still walked out and disappeared. Hardware store doesnt have a screw that small.

Look around on odysee, you'll find my modified SS trip sled for the CMMG 22LR kit.

Eric, what thread? #2? I'd be very surprised if it were a #0 thread.

I measured the hole. It is .074 so most likely #2. Going to get a 1 and 2

#2 should be pretty easy to find. Small screws and fine threads are easy to damage.

Question, I was playing with one today, and dry firing it when in semi mode, if you keep the trigger depressed, and cycle the bolt, when you release the trigger, it releases the hammer. Essentially a binary trigger, any ideas on how to correct this?
I will try a new one, and see if makes any difference. I suspect that the disconnect or is not engaging with the hammer because the trigger is not profiled correctly for the SS. Will play around with it and report back in a few days. Thanks!!!
Did a new disconnector work for you? I’m having the same issue.

I'm at 95% reliable with the 9" barrel in 22LR with:

Anderson pistol lower (make sure the lower has a low shelf, where the pocket behind the selector shaft is lower than the selector shaft)
RTB dedicated 9" upper, switched CMMG BCG and charging handle for the BB one.
Borbuddy BCG, charging handle
Borebuddy (steel/aluminum) adjustable Super Safety trip kit
GMR Super Safety
SWR Spectre II suppressor
CMMG stainless bolt weight, might try a BB adjustable bolt weight in the future.
15-22 mags
15-22 AR22 magwell clip
Blackdog 15-22 50 rd drum
CCI MM 40 gr RN ran well
CCi Clean did not work even in semi

I still get stoppages in the Super Safe mode but no dead triggers. I can just pull the trigger again. I can not do complete mag dumps but I get 1 or 2 singles then mag dump almost every time. I'm not sure if its my technique or the system. My 13 year old son is better at mag dumps than me.

Does anyone have experience with this in an AR10? I don’t know all that much about AR10s, but it is my impression there are some slightly different design standards for different components. Is there any special configuration needed to get an SS to work in the AR10 platform?

Seems like it could be fun to make a modern version of the old heavy barrel FALs or maybe a poor man’s BAR.

I have a AR10 with gray markets setup. Havent shot it much yet. Seems to work good. I have only done test shots. Some uppers need modified where the rear takedown pin goes. Mine needed it. I just trimmed the hole under the bolt carrier on the upper receiver back to the takedown.
There is a difference in bolt carriers as well. I had two. One was good and the other not.
The only difference with the lever is they drilled and tapped a hole for the bolt to hold the spring

I've seen there is a Glock SS in the works.
I have the files to a glock frt. Just dont have a glock lol. There is a guy who is going to market a s&w shield trigger. They operate by using the barrel tilt to push down on a spur on the replacement trigger pushing it forward.

We have a member here who printed the Glock Chuckle Button 2.0. He said he couldn't get it to work.
