Have a customer with a Galil ACE in 7.62 X 39 & is looking for a suppressor. I have heard grumblings about OSS suppressors and the jam nut not working out well. Any suggestions or 1st hand experience would be appreciated.

Sadly, especially IMI Galils are so rare not much real information is shared it seems to me. Is there currently now a Galil Whisper level Master Gun Smith who really works on them? Idk. Sorry not to hijack and wish you success.

It seems that using jam nuts with suppressors can be a bit of a mixed bag. Some manufacturers, like OSS, explicitly advise against using them, as they can cause alignment issues and potentially lead to baffle strikes. I'd suggest using shoulder rings or shims instead.

Agree 110% not worth the risk at all. Thanks

My Galil is an Ace Gen II 7.62x39 8.3” - which is apparently rare? Discontinued? Can anyone confirm? Anyway, my LGS got a mount on there for my Omega 300 and it sounds nice. If memory serves he used a jam nut but I’ve had no alignment issues; he does good work. My Galil is rarely fired these days so I don’t recall exactly what he did for the mount.
