I love the baby mac and probably wouldn’t if it had the larger 2x4 feeling grip frame. The baby is just perfectly sized for Richard’s creations. The baby mac and versa 12 makes for a nice compact package.

Don’t sell it.. not yet anyway.. It is currently the only “large grip” M12 ever seen in the wild as far as I know.

I agree, these were (and still basically are) cheap guns, and the likelihood of someone paying a real gunsmith or MAC mechanic like Sam to do such a clean magwell swap are very slim.. my initial reaction was to say it’s NOT factory because I’ve “never” seen that.. but I have learned to never say never with this stuff and it’s very possible that the folks over at SWD were running low on the small
Magwells and decided to complete a handful of these with their plentiful 11/9 magwells… resulting in what you have here. It’s also a nicely finished example too. Cool gun!

Here’s another clue… did it come with a “380” marked zytel magazine? Does that short mag have “380” on the rear of it?

Came it one larger one, but the problem is, I commingled it with some other Zytels I had, so I don’t know which one came with the gun. Back before ZMAGS, the Zytels were one of the few relable options for the lage uppers.

If you have 380 marked zytels im gonna stay optimistic and assume this gun came with one of them and continue leaning towards this being a rare factory anomaly.

I apologize to the OP for de-railing his thread, but I think he has already gotten the answers he was seeking on the first page of discussion. Glad this thread ended up resulting in this rarity being uncovered! As a collector it’s fun seeing new stuff, just when you think you have seen it all.
