I converted some SWD mags to fit in my Powder Springs MAC-10a and I am having a hell of a time getting them to work properly.

I took some photos of hte jams. I think the mags are not sitting high enough inthe mag well.

Anyone have any ideas?

It could be that the mag is to low... How does the round look before a jam??? Almost looks like the feed lips are letting go to early. Not familiar with all the models, the SWD style mags are double feeds... Are your original M10 mags double feeds???

I think they are sitting too low.

The original mags are Walther double feeds and they are 100% reliable.

SWD (zytel) mags already have a notch for the M10/9mm in them. It's the lower catch position. People used to grind away the upper catch to convert them.

Do you know if you have an original M10/9 mag catch? Not the plastic one.

BTW, zytels are single feed.

Wildman,

The powder Springs MAC-10 9mms were double feed Walther MPL/K magazines. Not the Single feed zytels of the MAC-11 variety.

I believe that this is an original powder springs MAC-10 9mm mag catch because I picked up a Walther Mag for it after I recevied the MAC-10 and it fit without a problem and worked without any issues.

I misunderstood what you meant.

No worries. These mags had to have the metal strip on the front and back ground down on a belt grinder until they would slide into the mag housing.

Then, the back metal strap had to be ground with a mill until it would engage the mag release when inserted into the mag housing.

Thanks. Got them. They look great. Different from the original mags, definitely good looking mags.

I am going to add photos to my website.

SC,
I still haven't received my M10/9 back from the Uzi conversion. I can't wait to try it. Hopefully it was the right move, I hated to screw around with a pristine PS gun ... but, we will see.
Thanks,
Mark

They are going for $100.00 or more if you can find them.

I found some and spent a large amount of money on Walther mags. To me, it was worth it.
