I read a post here SOMEPLACE where someone was asking for a view of an original Swedish K suppressor...unfortunatly I didn't take a photo of the muzzle end.

Enjoy, but PLEASE don't use the photos without crediting them to machinegunbooks.com, thanks

Ferndog, thanks for the post. Very nice pictures. The suppressor we are looking for is the CIA version used in Vietnam. The outer tube is the same diameter all the way through, and just before the front sights there are a series of holes.

Like the one in the pic below.

somewhere
find david J truby's book silencers, snipers & assassins, look on page 85. there is a picture of one given from cia to treasury. caption says it fires f/a with standard ammo & is hand-operated with reduced loads. Has 3 rows of 4 holes on side in pic about 1-1&1/2" back from muzzel end of can, just behind sight(assume backside is same), can see inner tube thru holes, is slighty bigger than receiver tube and looks to be slighty longer than the receiver tube and has a sight mounted on tube also. picture also has sling on gun, may has sling mount middle way down can on left side.

yes. That it the suppressor in J. David Truby's book.. I have several pictures in books, but not many you can find on the net. L34A1 needs measurements and a pic of the front end cap from the front, instead of just guessing, to build a reproduction but with updated internals.

You have to wonder why the holes in the front but they sure make it look cool. Someone said it was so the barrel would drain for the SEALs coming out of the water on missions.

There is a color photo of the SK in SAR 1/08

There is a color photo of the SK in SAR magazine 1/08 . Caption is wrong, but a decent photo. The gun is in the ATF reference collection.

A friend just bought a legal K and wants to duplicate the suppressor made for the CIA, 64 to 69 vintage.
We think it was made off books in PA machine shop.
Need the pics and measurements nec to do this. were you successful in your duplication of the original ?
Do you have the pics or dimensions that you would share ?
