In case people were wondering if the Tavor SAR was just vaporware...here's a couple of recent shots of the PA factory:

TAVOR SAR's staged for test firing. In case anybody still doubts that they are in production....

I shoot an AR pretty much nose to the charging handle. I'm wondering how the Tavor not having a collapsable stock is working out for Folks in the LOP dept.. Israeli IDF come in all sizes, so maybe its not an issue.
Anybody have any hands on?

I wonder if they'll do factory SBR models..?

Mike

I don't know about that - I know they will be doing SBR & FA/Burst for Military/Police use....but it's no biggie; a barrel swap takes less time than on an Uzi.
The Tavor has a interchangable barrel in which only one mounting lug has to be disengaged which is on the right side of the weapon behind the pistol grip. I'm not sure you could call it a true quick change like the AUG but it is said that you can change between a STAR and TAR barrel in under two minutes.

Here's a nice little tidbit; It's the Tavor Armorer's Manual - you can download it in PDF or TXT format:

(requires Scribd account)

...or you can get it here free as a PDF/ e-book:

Hopefully this is considered on topic. If you were in the market barring the craziness would you get the Tavor or Scar 16s?

What is/was the price?

I heard 2800.00 before and am hearing close to 6 K now!

Any truth to that?

That's one of the great things about the Tavor "American" is that you don't need a SBR. With the "American" version's shorter 16" barrel, the barrel barely protrudes from the standard hand guard.

Who is IWI distributing these through? Jerry's, Shieda's, SOG, etc... I want to get a few and need to know where to look. Can my local GS send their FFL to IWI's office in Lingestown directly and get them?

Who is IWI selling these under? Charls Daily? Or are they going to market their IWI brand directly?

Inquiring minds just gotta know.

+1
start making these:
Micro_TAVOR_3.jpg

and then I'll throw money at IWI like my life depended on it.

its really not that much shorter:

they could throw a permanent fake suppressor on it and get the length to standard non-sbr length too:

New pics up on the IWI facebook page, including left-hand models.

They say shipping will begin "any day now".

I think it's time for a Tavor forum.

The Tavor is ambidextrous. It can be swapped from left to right hand in about 10 min.

Yes on a Tavor Forum.
