I just got in my factory Intratec Forgrip for my Tec-9. I don't know if I am going to mount it yet or just keep it put up....but how do I mount it? Do I have to take the shroud off somehow or ??? Thanks in advance.

They attach to the shroud with the screw and special nut....attaching it makes the gun an AOW....

I have the factory parts and everything and I was just messing around with trying to attach it. I don't think I am going to because it was pretty difficult and I think I'll just keep it in the safe...but I read or heard somewhere that if the gun was Pre-ban, you could attach a foregrip and be "ok"? Is that something that someone has gotten totally wrong?

There is a shouldered nut that fits thru one of the holes in the bottom of the shroud(from the inside).....the screw in the grip is screwed into that.....

Putting that grip on any KG-9/KG-99/ TEC-9/etc makes it an AOW......pre or post ban doesn't matter....

On the KG-99 owners manual(Closed Bolt weapon), it even stated that putting on the forward grip was making the weapon an AOW! The warning was in "Red" ink at a 45 degree angle going across the page in the manual that we had. My KG-9(Open Bolt weapon was sold with the grip in the box, but I don't remember the warning.

Well I guess that settles it....I won't be mounting it. But I had a lot of trouble just playing around with mounting it. That's part of the reason, other than the legality, that I won't mount it. And I understand that I can register it and all that...but why do that when the gun itself doesn't always, ummmm, function. And sorry about the email situation Adolf, even it failed on my end. It also wouldn't let me send pictures of my rifle. I will try again later tonight if I can

Also, don't keep the Grip in the same Safe as the weapon, they might go for Constructive Intent!

What do you mean StooperZero?

the internet wisdom of 'constructive intent' .... Unless you do something dumb nobody will ever know you have it , at that point it will become icing on the cake on top of other serious charges
( only if it's the atf you're dealing with)

That's what I thought you were getting at, and that's true. Stupid is as stupid does in most cases...

the whole "10years, $250,000 fine" is the max and you'll probly bee seeing 20+ years anyways for "other" things like gangbanger activity/drugs/extortion.

the way they've handled some local things in the past makes you wonder . IE: , gun runner using C&R and selling the guns at bars for a profit gets busted ( he had things of "intent" as well) . Atf ganks his license , 5 years of probation and 7 years to pay off a $5,000 fine. I imagine if one of the guns he sold was used in a crime he would have done real time . i dont get it but then i have to remember who we're talking about.

I've got one of those that I never use. It came with a barrel extension for my OEM M11/9 upper. I've removed the pistol grip and screwed the extension on to my TEC-9 before. But I came to the conclusion it just makes the gun more heavy and awkward with no real benefit.

In the M11 it at least helps keep you from shooting your hand off.

Here's a picture I found on the interwebs of what it would look like all assembled.

That looks like a Street Sweeper Grip that Cobray sold back in the day! Stooper Zero's comments are on the up and up! Yes that is Gay Looking!
