That’s a full auto bolt carrier.
Every complete upper I’ve purchased post AWB has included a full auto carrier. Does anyone manufacture semi auto specific bolt carriers anymore?

In the last say 5 years they have gotten less common but ares as people have said have semi bolt carriers, lewis machine and tool still sells them, etc. Only real reason I can think of to buy one would be if you have one of the older colt lowers with the full auto carrier block in it(or any other company that did them). The other thing would be carriers like the the one the scr lower ares does as its shorter. I think some of the lightweight carriers are semi only too.

I do agree though the vast majority of anything sold in the US at this point has a full auto carrier.

That’s makes no sense, but you’re correct. FightLite’s website shows two different BCAs. One full auto, and one semi auto, but both are priced the same. The bolt carrier is an u regulated part so I’m not sure why they do this.

My guess would be that the semi carriers are old stock. The original Shrike was before the 2004 ruling that semi automatic carriers were not allowed for semi owners.

Ok more questions
  1. Is it aluminum or steel
  2. Is this a TASK style design with a hole through the back plate?
  3. Is this design even feasible for the 11/9? It is longer in the rear, and if there is a requirement for buffer tube continuity that would seem to impact the dimensions.

1-Billet aluminum

2-No modifications to the M10 RR.

3-We think we have way to deal with the extra length of the M11/NINE receiver to be used with the adapter system.

Awesome! When do we get to see a shrike clipped to one? :)

I'll step up and volunteer my Shrikes for testing. No need to send ammo, got lots. Send me an adapter and how you would like the testing conducted.

Make sure you make some videos! A video of that running a Beltfed will sell many many more units.

Thank you for posting the picture Sam. The lever in the back is not a selector. That is a buffer retainer lever. The PDW off the shelf AR buffering system uses buffers designed to slip inside the back of the carrier. They offer H1, H2, H3, 9mm and a super heavy all tungsten constructed buffer. Plus a recoil spring system for 5.56X45/9mm and a heavier spring system for piston or belt fed systems. We plan to ship with the standard spring and a H2 buffer. The line coming from the captured rear pin is for the extra material around the detent hole in the adapter. The front detent hole is in the angled reinforced at the front of the adapter. The bolt/carrier assembly is chromium boron coating for ease of cleaning. The small rail at the back is the same height and plane as the flat top upper. So it is possible to mount an AR rear iron sign near the user's eye.

What type of stock adapter is being used to keep the bore line centered to the stock? Looks like it’s wedge shaped. Does that come with the adapter?

I get the reason for it all and the need to do it like this but I’m not positive I can get into how Frankenstein looking it is. Is the lower really not uncomfortable angled like that?

Any thought to a loaner. You can charge my card full price and I return it for after I demo it? Not sure I can drop that much coin not holding it. Maybe just me but my pockets are not as deep as many on here

Interesting that the position of the AR upper essentially positions the charging handle like a side charger.

Nice work guys. This is in my opinion one of the most exciting things to ever happen for the Mac platform. Hopped on the list on Monday.

I do have one question though.

When does work on the AR10 / DPMS version start?

:50_cal:

:)

And while we’re at it, how about a version that accepts Saiga mags and drums? Possibilities are endless.

Not comfortable?! Like the angled grip of an AR, AK, FAL, FNC, etc.? Most modern handguns in the world today have angled grips.

On loaners... I’ve got a pair of M-11/9 loaner CF-W bolts and one was out for one week short of four months. Someone l call a friend and who I’ve known for well over a decade and absolutely trusted. I was never worried about getting it back, and I know life gets complicated. He said he was busy and never got a chance to try it.

Death in family, birth in family. Lost my job, started a new job. Rained, snowed, too hot, too cold, too dry, too wet. Got married, got divorced. Personally? I’ll continue to lend bolts to trusted individuals I know for testing and R&D, but I wouldn’t offer a try before you buy program and wouldn’t recommend it. Maybe Lage Mfg. can offer a similar program? I’ll see him tomorrow and can ask when that program will be offered.
