I suppose gun guys are like dog breeders and car collectors; you follow your passion and get in real deep...

Tough decision; ask the BATF to verify and remove the cloud or just go on your merry way and whistle past the graveyard.
Either way this is why I chose to avoid these.
Appreciate the clarification on the org.
if this thread was aborted like some other forums have done....would that lesson the issue?
Just great news there for anyone with a vested interest in one of these. The NFATCA fucked us out of the trust exemption with their 41p lobbying and tried to hose suppressor manufacturers with serial number shenanigans as well, the last thing anyone wants is for them to "inquire" about anything else from the ATF. With friends like them who needs enemies.

What really kills me are the people that have bought these guns and continue to brag about them.
It's almost like they want everyone to know and are screaming come get it. It's not going to matter if the gun is legit or not.
THANK YOU!
I didn't want to be the one to say it since I've said it so many times.

The whole collection is under scrutiny.
Kinda like any other collection once a repop or forgery is found the whole collection becomes suspect.
Doesn't matter if it's only one sword, car, comic book, or in this case gun. the one fraud now calls attention to the whole collection.
Most collectors wouldn't buy anything from the seller after the 1st fraud was suspect just to ensure they were not being ripped off or tainting their own collection.
Big difference here is we are not talking about a old car claimed to be 100% original with new seats and mismatched motor.
But a item that is so heavily regulated that the Gov. will seize it and possibly levy fines or worse.
Rich
Show of hands those dying to say "I told you so".....lol
This collection is 3+ years old
At what point should I stop worrying someone will knock on my
Door to inspect my gun?
Who will the expert be to judge authentic or not
I have no worries.
If I had m4 features I’d worry a bit more
10 years from now I suspect this will still come up every 6 months
When you buy a $30,000 m16 your buying a piece of paper
My piece of paper is legit
The make and model has not changed.
I think some of you think the sky is falling.

1. First rule in gun collecting: buy the gun not the story.
2. Second rule in gun collecting: if there is the slightest bit of controversy, inconsistency or just something that seems peculiar then move on.
Mine has everything correct for 1984

There’s been some real good objective advice in this thread for those able to accept it without emotion.
This is the best advice ever given on a gun forum ever.
