so this gun, with A4 reinforcements, listed for $38,500 or so, along with a M16A1 carbine (NIB correct color appeared original listed at $32500) are both now marked sold : http://www.subguns.com/classifieds/...sults_format=long&db_id=27575&query=retrieval

Which is very interesting...

What's more interesting is that these guns never actually "sold". Most of the vendors peddling these bastard Colt's have developed knocking knees in light of the recent attention the guns have received. Some have temporarily benched their inventories. I have it that these were advertised "from TX" in an attempt to disassociate the negroid iteration from the "PA Collection" and "offered" and "purchased" at such an inflated price in an attempt to artificially create confidence in these fatherless rifles and drive market values for back up again.

I take it you have this on confidence?

Pretty sure this is a resale of one offered a few months back.

Google 'Tulip Bulbs Holland'.

It would appear that Mr. Colt remanufactured post 1986 any SN he could tease out of the Colt factory records.

Personally I suspect NONE of these were physically produced pre1986.

it was listed somewhere in April 2016....so it would have enough time to transfer dealer to dealer to try to resell....im keeping records of all of the US property guns..........just found it funny they are asking more as a reserve than last time.....

It means you won't find it in a catalog because Mr. Colt dreamed it up one day or wanted to recreate something that had 126 holes drilled in it so he just had his midnight minions reproduce it.

Just my opinion.

The X prefix was experimental, they are usually early prototypes.

Trust me, Mr. Colt was not special ordering special serial numbers pre-86.

Most of what went on was him scouring the factory Post-86 and buying up anything registered pre-86. Even if it was inoperable, filled with holes, as remarked above. Does it shock you that his collection had so many "experimental" and prototype guns? Not if they were prototypes that were beat to shit and modified seven ways to Sunday then remanufactured.

This has been discussed ad nauseum.

I will wager here that this is the final last batch, for real.

That knucklehead on GB with the BIN for $41,500 is dreaming. Maybe in 5 years. Plus it looks like shit, upper and lower don't match and it's got tons of scratches

The other way to look at it is that he's asking Colt Thompson money.... for a rare as hens teeth Colt US Govt M16 (that has a viable tax stamp).

Arguably comparable.

i paid $35k for mine and someone before me paid $40k (someone emailed me about his).....Ruben sold one for $40k

the lowest i saw one sell for was $28,500 and i believe that was not advertised as factory new.........since the $28,500 sale i notice they always have a reserve on them

Colt Thompson is extra quality, Colt A2 govt marked is just a marking........more rare than a Colt Thompson, but there is not the quality difference as between a Colt Thompson and a 1942 Thompson

A2 prices will most likely rise again once the pallet drys up

i have my eye on what this one sells for......condition doesnt look so new....lots of wear marks on this one......ive seen them listed as used w/ less wear

I've been following this gun with the same photos for months and months.

It's not going to sell for 5 or more years unless he lowers the reserve below 35K.

He needs to clean it up and take more photos.

Some guys don't want to sell. In fact, most guys with a reserve don't want to sell. They are unwilling to accept that the market sets prices. THey think they set prices.

In the last month I sold 10 preban Colt AR15s on GB, all with a starting bid of .99, no reserve, and no BIN. All sold for nice premiums. Because all the other knuckleheads have pie in the sky prices on theirs. So their stuff just sits there and sits there and sits there.

Which is what will happen to this one. Maybe he just likes having it and telling his buddies it's worth $41500 - want proof, look at the price on GB!

the whole M16 market seems depressed.....with Uzi's hitting $16k+ why are M16's still $20-25k

A2's arent selling for much or any more than A1's.......for $25k you can sell your A2 this week....any more and it will sit for a month+

this gun looks hacked up....matters to some, not to others....but if you want a premium price it needs to look new when advertising it as new.....$30k reserve and ill bet it would sell in a couple of weeks....Spiwak sold one for $32 a few months ago...sat on his website for 3-4 weeks(maybe less)...

a year after the pallet is finally emptied and im hoping pricing rises......but then why do i care if i never plan to sell?.....just makes me feel better inside knowing i can sell it for what i paid for it some day....all my other FAs are worth 15-20%+ more than i paid...my A2- worth -$5k from what i paid.....my fault for rushing into the deal......but it would be nice to be at the break even point.

From your lips to God's ear. HRC could make them worthless to sell or pass on... or much worse.

Vote Trump.
Often.

Trump says the words 2nd Amendment multiple times in every speech....makes my heart warm to hear it

Model 711

Here's a very nice specimen: http://www.gunbroker.com/item/581398235

Note early grey Colt Anodizing, proper markings, A1 barrel and A1 rear sight.

I think this is an original specimen, but the box and papers are obviously compliments of Mr. Colt.

Probably a model 711 dating to 84 or 85. Note SN is 80000XY.
