Mike at TSC does excellent work, you made a great choice having him build the gun.

I wasn't willing to shell out for the E gun myself but I have a 21k from him, its an angry little thing.

Very nice! I think that the Raven will get a little angry when I start feeding it 308...

So, did Mike cut down std 17" 23e and 21e barrels for this build or are you using non-HK barrels (BPP,MM, FMP)?

That’s right, he cut down HK barrels for this build.

Nuge you have motivated me to get mm23ek, I had the full size but it was too bulky. I put my gold up for trade to see it I can motivate anyone

I don’t even want to ask how much you spent having this built.
Good news is from looking at the pictures it seems to be worth every penny, this has to be the one of the sexiest transferables I have ever seen.

Yeah, this thread has got me re-juiced on the 21e/23e

I collected the parts this week for 2 of the TSC custom 21/23 Magpul UBR stocks...
Not easy to find out of production parts like this and not cheap (HK 21e stock ~$500 and Mapgul UBR Gen1 stock ~$250)
Very lucky to find them that quickly...

Does the side rail mounted grip work well? Why did you mount it there vs under the barrel?
Btw, it's a beautiful gun

Thanks. Mike actually mounted it there for the photos before he shipped the gun. Its a matter of preference really. On this gun the grip can be mounted side or bottom, but since the bottom is railed on the Raven it will require an adapter or a different grip than the standard HK one. I do plan to use the grip in the bottom position for off hand shooting on it (like an M60).

Here are some examples of side and bottom grip positions for a standard HK-E gun front end - in this case on a Terry Dyer RR 23E:

Got it. It seems like, except from a bipod(or some other kind of mount) having a "side grip" would cause it to roll high and left during firing.

Went with a sig romeo red dot for the the Raven, got it dialed in before our shoot this past weekend. The Raven (in 5.56) was more popular that the M60. Will post pics and vids from the shoot a little later...

What a sweet gun, definitly on my bucket list. I like how only the Lady confirms her target before shooting.

I'd imagine the 5.56 is easier to shoot but I'm curious how you compare the feel of the M60 and HK21 for shooting, lugging, fixed position vs moving?

Thanks. The M60E4 has the edge over an HK21e in all those categories IMO. I have yet to compare the HK21eK (Raven) in 308 to the M60 but I intend to, and hope to use a quantitative method for "smoothness" that I am working on for another project to evaluate the two. The Raven should be more "luggable" than the 60 but it needs a handle...
