I posted the carbine a while ago, but wanted to do a new thread about the little part I designed and machined....it may help others.
............AND I wanted to show off the recently completed SBR (just finished doing the barrel from another SS 10/22 barrel I had.)
Here is the part I made....I am sure it is nothing new, but it made my 90% reliable CMMG .22 conversion 100% (so far) reliable.
I machined a small piece of nylon to a friction fit into the cavity of the new Nordic Stock....then drilled and tapped for a 10-32 cap screw. I adjust the screw out so the upper will almost close.....then tighten the screw a bit at a time until it is out as far as it can be, yet allow the upper to pin to the lower. I have found that in all kits, there is still a tiny bit of movement and you can get light strikes. I was getting 1-3 per mag before doing this. This doesn't let the conversion bolt move at all. Last 3 mags I had out (same ammo, no cleaning before hand) was 100%.
Have done this same thing with the AGP Arms floding stock. Even easier, because the mounting piece is already drilled and taped in the center...just add cap screw and adjust properly.
P.S. Yes, it's a registered SBR lower.
