Hi guys, i own a semi-model B
i'm curious is it normal and always quick to have the minor scratch under the topcover?, and that i think due to the contact of it and the bolt. I started to see the bolt side also made some obvious looking scratch on the left side of the reciever as well. and i dont think i'v fired that much, less than 200 rds since it came as NIB. and i checked all the firing pin, and it's all inplace, and the striker is correctedly installed back on.. how would you suggest ?
thank you

that will make me "worry free" :) , cause i was like, i fired the gun so little and what if those guys have gone through over thousands of rds through their guns and it didn't thin down the reciever and other parts at all? but thanks alot..

After several thousand rounds, it won't be a scratch....:jester Sounds like normal wear so now you know exactly where to lube the the bolt and top cover.

so after a few thousand rounds, what have you guys experienced? any major damage or replacement? ...i'm interested to get some spare parts such as bolts, little screws that hold the grips. the springs, firing pin and that striker is a very thin (fragile to me). any links to the parts for sale?
:)

No problem... But I usually make sure I hit those spots with lube before I go to the range...

May be a little unconventional, but I use the same stuff in my Uzi that I do my M1A - Miltech-1 grease. I use a thin layer on top of the bolt and on surfaces which make contact. No problems. I'm at just around 2,000 rounds through this IMI Model B, but my original I bought in the 80's had well over 10,000 rounds through it with no issues, (one FTE I seem to remember).

Militec is good stuff... sucks for corrosion resistance, but it's a very good lubricant. I use it sometimes before I go to the range when I know I'm going to shoot my guns. I usually use break free though. It's a little light, but works really well as both a lubricant and protectant. It works really well against corrosion and rust. I usually put a thick layer on areas that require a high level of lube, places that wear against each other. I then give all exposed metal surfaces a good coat. I live in a dry area so I'm sure it isn't all that necessary, but I'd rather have the protection. I also think it would help to prevent scratches.
