Dimpled locations for F/A conversion (or even silencer endcaps) is considered "readily convertible" and is verboten. Sucks, but yeah.

Seems like every time I try to do something I'm a dollar short and a day late. Those factory plates sound great. Don't think the ATF cares unless you drill out the auto holes. Some AK recievers have the auto divots.

I see that the hole for the safety is low and that's where it should be. Now if the Lee plates can line up with the VMAC this could be done. Guessing that with the way things work for me if I buy VMAC/Lee parts then you will get the Cobray plates. Waiting means that the VMAC will be out of stock.

Must ask you something MWG. Does Cobray take forever to ship? I've had a pending order for a month now.
Yes, sometimes they don’t even ship at all and you will receive a hand written check back from them a year later once you inquire. I ordered a couple of things from them once, a couple of months past. I called, and they had not even shipped it, and they use the snow as an excuse. Pretty sure they had just forgotten to ship because as soon as I called, it went out the next day.

They are bullshit. Not the real Cobray, if you want to go through the original Cobray, hit up Excalibur. Shane is Sylvia Daniels son and he has a lot of cool original stuff. He sold the name to the bullshit “Cobray” a few decades ago.

Well crap! It was nice to think that there was everything that you could need at one place...and new.
Did email them last week and asked if my order had been lost.

Excalibur just doesn't have a lot.

Is there any weld jigs out there? I've searched and found nothing.

Sadly nobody sells the jigs. They were available there for a bit when blackdog arsenal was still selling his excellent MAC weld kits, before the atf ruined his life and sent him to prison for 20 years for selling saw cut parts sets that he bought on gunbroker to a confidential informant. His weld kits were the best of the best, correct profile, only cut for the ejection port on the right side plate, and no semi auto selector holes.

VCMAC9 kit on the way.
I believe the VMAC has a slightly wider center section than the standard “Cobray spec” M11/9. The Cobray upper would likely fit but may have a little more room than usual on each side. I could be wrong about this but I’m fairly certain it’s the VMAC9 that is the only one of any of the MAC variants that actually has slightly different frame proportions that the “Cobray spec”/original guns, in this case the standard M11/9 frame

Thank you...read that somewhere, but was not sure if that was true. The kit does have their side charging upper. Thinking that there could be problems that was the "correct" thing to do. If the side plates from Lee check out everything will be fine. If not this may be a bit tougher. Should be able to use the blue prints that come with the VMAC to check.
FTF is out of the weld parts.

Thank you Member13, will keep that in mind. They are also a good source of polymer sten mags.
Have you ever tried dry lube? It could help. It never dries out and some have teflon.

I use the DuPont motorcycle lube with teflon on almost everything

Wow...still have to use a rubber mallet after that!
I'm going to look for that stuff. Been using Tri-Flow for years. Getting a bit hard to find and costly. But...it does fit in the range bag.

Thanks. This should also be better than the dry lube that Home Depot sells. Been using that on the outside mostly.

I'm am thinking about getting the PS Flash cone for this build. https://macmachineguns.com/?product=cone-flash-hider-style-2a-2
Do you need a strap wrench to put it on?

My M11 that I bought sports a CMMG Linear comp (it has a FTF threaded barrel). https://www.wingtactical.com/firear...e-devices/cmmg-9mm-zeroed-linear-compensator/
It really directs the sound forward. Shot the M11 and my friend didn't have his ear plugs in. He said it was not loud.
I had one of the PS Flash cones.....it has two flat spots for a wrench

If one wanted to build a Mini 9 (MPA version), do plates exist for it too?
