Saw video on Reddit, looks like a hybrid of versa lower with a mac daddy upper. I have a M11/9 and I’m thinking wont need to buy another MG after this.

That's the Versa upper, ScubaLoser said a Versa lower with a MacDaddy upper. Maybe I'm too far removed to be asking and should just shut up.

That appears to be the standard semi auto mac upper that is common in the 3d print world. Looks like a basic Mac Daddy just with rails and accessories. That is a hammer fired gun (ar15 fcg). I dont think a lage upper would work on one of these.

Deez Nuts Tactical makes a SS that has a longer lever and a trip for the DB9, Mac N Cheese and Mac Daddy.

DBDesign makes alloy reinforced side plates for the lowers.

Middleton Made did a review on the Lage, MPA and Velocity Arms uppers for 3D printed lowers

I really wish someone would just make a CNC Aluminum lower already.

A standard Mac style bolt does not have a surface to activate a forced reset trigger. One could be added, but the end result would be pretty close to that of a factory Mac style registered receiver. Which has been at or near the bottom of market value for transferable machine guns.

Semi automatic Mac style pistols are notorious for trigger slap. How abusive would such a pistol with a forced reset trigger be? From the Task slow fire to the Versa upper have been aftermarket products to make a Mac style RR more user friendly. If you want a forced reset subgun, I would think that a MP5 clone with forced reset trigger and modifications would tend to be a better subgun and have off the shelf parts for such a conversion compared to a custom forced reset conversion that would end up being what so many of the owners of the actual Mac style RRs are trying to get away with.

Certainly, if what you want is a Mac style gun, that has an incredibly high cyclic rate and will beat the daylights out of your trigger finger, have at it. YMMV.

Stuck this in the wrong thread move it over here.

the lower appears to either be 3d printed or a AR9 type lower.
Possibly the SUMAC lower???
If it has a AR fcg all it needs is the shelf/ catch on the bolt to flip the SS back & forth to reset the trigger.
I agree it's fast

Scott,

A standard semi M11 style bolt has a surface to activate a Super Safety. I posted the link.

An AR15 Super Safety has NO trigger slap.

They are now making SSes, trips and reinforcing lowers for semi M11/9 uppers. These 3D printed M11 lowers use an AR15 FCG and a Super Safety with NO trigger slap. For about $300 someone could assemble an M11/9 like SMG with no paperwork.

I hate to say it but currently, there is no reason to buy a M16, AR10, HKs, AKs or a MAC style SMG. Not when you can have the same result with a legal $80-100 Super Safety and semi version..

I hope we have not arrived at a time when the biggest threat to machine guns are the people who currently own them and are trying to protect their investments.

Great now you tell me I didn't need to buy a trasnferable miniuzi last weekend LOL
As close as these FRT gizmos are they still are not mil. grade full autos.
And while I've owned a few transferables I'd be happy to see the bottom fall out of their value if we could go back to the OTC purchases like they were to begin with.
While we are seeing the beginning of the NFA getting gutted or at least the best attempts in history, I have a feeling the true FA MG's will never be cash & carry again.

There are at least three different printable M series lowers that take AR fcg's that I know of and I don't follow the 3d gun print world.
Someone is or has even made the SS for the AR fcg VZ61 scorpion lower also.

Cool... Maybe I'll actually be able to get rid of this SWD upper that appears to have been given the "bling treatment" with gold Cerakote.

It's been like this for as long as I have been collecting guns. I remember when trust fund baby "Alex from TFB TV" tried to explain to his audience why the NFA and only people with disposable income owning FA's was "a good thing". He "retired" from TFB not long after and was never seen nor heard from online ever again - and that's "a good thing".

I sure hope they go down in price. Maybe then, I can afford an HK sear (doubt it).

It’s a shame but they’re banned in FL. Can’t believe it.

An SS or FRT in a semi version of an open bolt Subgun is going to shoot at higher RPMs and have harsher recoil than the open bolt version. Advanced Primer Ignition makes a big difference in the open bolt guns. I think the Open Bolt Subguns will perform significantly better than a potential semi Subgun with an SS or FRT.

So… if there was a SS or FRT for a MAC or UZI, I don’t think it would be a pleasant experience firing one and it keeping it on target would be difficult. It would be a novelty, but not a desirable combination.

I agree that an open bolt M10, M11 or Uzi would have a competitive advantage over a semi with a SS in a competition.

The SS is not a Rare Breed FTR-15. The SS is much better. That's why Lawewnce Demonico/RB FRT-15 is working so hard to sue the small Super Safety makers for C infringement even though the SS is only similar in result.

I think we need to remember M16s, AR10s, HKs and AKs are not open bolt. Most people who buy a SA rifle can afford a SS to mimic the select fire versions. The SS will not replace MGs. It certainly will allow more people to afford a giggle switch.

We are back to the 80s. The SS will probably end the same way.

I dunno. The last Subgun match I shot we had guys running super safe in 9mm carbines. Kept up with us MG folks. One of them wasn't real reliable but still did better than the MP5s that were there.

The SS guys were pretty competitive. Was pretty cool to see! They did have a higher ROF than my Max31 for sure.

I've run super safe in calibers such as 556, 7.62x25, 22LR. The 556 felt pretty much like my M10 in 556. The tokarev was extremely controllable bit ROG was very very low, maybe 500RPM. Probably slower. Felt slower than a DPM and was so slow I wondered if it had malfunctioned until the second round went off. Yes, there is enough oomph to lock the bolt open on the last round.

Until the NFA gets struck down the forced reset trigger are the best bet for most folks. It's pretty close and works very well, the Hoffman super safety in particular works very very well.
