Tips for a new Reising owner?

So I have a Reising on the way to me that should get here soon:

This unit comes from the collection of a former class three dealer from the state of Indiana. Clean bright bore and the later shorter 14 cooling fins. A nice grain walnut reinforced quick take down military wood stock.
The gun was sent to Andrewski of manchester n.h. for the once over - it received a complete new spring package as part of this service.


I have never even seen one of these guns but the price on this one was right! Only comes with one mag, so I am looking to pick up some more. Anything else I should buy?

Any tips or tricks for a new Reising owner would be much appreciated.

Looks new and nice wood. If you like to shoot? Consider a reloader at some point. The savings are real.
Right now they are out of stock on these mags, original mags are not common.

Pick up some spare firing pins, or a Christie one.
Maybe an Action Bar.

I always recommend a two piece plug / hammer spring guide. Can't hurt and may smooth the action out a lot.

Just check that your firing pin is a "floating firing pin" like a 1911 and your breakage problems will go away. If your pin is too long, remove material from the back of the firing pin to shorten it. Numrich also has the replacement 20 rounders, and if your a C&R or FFL, you get a discount. The Ken Christie 30 (I load 32) are what really make this gun up to date. If your gun has a new spring kit ($25 from wolf gun springs), it is good to go. Go out an shoot the fire breathing beast!
Oh and the manual does not state to clean the firing pin and lube it on field disassembly, but do it so the firing pin gets lubed. It is easy to take apart. And as emmagee stated above, it your gun does not have the 2 piece bumper plug, get it. Its only a matter of time when the one piece breaks.
