Several months ago I picked up another M-76 (sold the first one years ago) and noted a longer, grittier, heavier( 15 lbs. plus) trigger pull than my first gun. I stripped the new gun down and removed a peened-over burr that was forming at the bolt's sear notch. I continued to polish the bolt's sear face with a hard Arkansas stone while maintaining the proper notch angle but in the end it didn't improve the trigger pull much. I'm reluctant to polish the sear unless I had a spare. Has anyone had any success with smoothing out and reducing the trigger pull on these guns?

I wouldn’t polish the bolt, as they’re expensive.

That being said, you’re in luck.

@navgunner, is making new parts (bolts, extractors, cans, sears and complete trigger bar sets.

See below:

Also, if you haven’t got @subgun24 22LR kit, you need too.

Thanks for the reply. In regards to polishing the bolt sear face, I'm using a hard Arkansas stone to polish, not to remove metal. I had previously checked NavGunner but he's currently out of stock on the items that I would like to have.

In my experience, polishing gives a mild improvement but unfortunately, it’s no saving grace. Of course, be careful when doing this.

I’m in the process of making new trigger-bar/sear assemblies (literally). As long as I don’t get pulled off of this, kits should be completed relatively soon. (week or two). That being said, I just opened them up for sale on my website as a backorder item.

Please note that my customers report an improved trigger, but this is not something that I’ve quantified/qualified as it was not the scope of the project.
