I bought one 3 years ago that has 300 rds total with no probs. Most of that time in the safe because I dont trust the receiver
The ejector has slight peening. Ive decided its time to shoot it or sell it so I sent tenngalil an email.

I recently bought a Golani serial GLN 067** and it has a few issues. I had absolutely no issues firing wolf ammo through it with the supplied Galil steel magazines. I then attempted some even crappier Tula ammo and the gun would not eject a single casing. Every shot resulted in me having to jam the cleaning rod down the barrel to punch out the casing. I then tried some good federal brass cased and that worked fine for about 100 rounds, but the gun heated up and I started having failure to eject problems again, and 2 double feeds. Not sure what to make of it.

Oso Galil, I had the same issues. Come to find out sometimes at Century the inside of the barrel chamber gets parkerized and makes the surface rough and adds thickness. So when you start shooting the brass expands and traps the case in the chamber. I solved the issue by cleaning the chamber with Prolix and a .223/5.56mm chamber brush. After I got all the crud out, I then used Flitz paste and the bore brush to polish the chamber out until it was shiny. Just make sure that when you are done to clean all the paste off your weapon. After that I had no more issues. Lou

Absolutely no question I'm sending mine to Jeff after reading that. As soon as I can get hold of him. He's a very busy man. And may it always be so. :)

OK just talked to Jeff. He explained the problem with Century grinding the bolt lugs (which blows my mind). I checked what he told me to check and my bolt doesn't appear to have been ground. That's one hurdle I'm over (hopefully).

My front sight sits pretty high when zeroed to 100yds so hopefully that means the barrel isn't off by too much.

The problem with the receiver being soft is the next hurdle and so I'm sending it to him. Assuming it's usable I'm going to have him fix whatever needs fixing and then cut the barrel to 16" and refinish it. If there's money in the budget get some engraving done. The IDF crest would be really sweet.

According to Jeff's description (as I understood it) this should be good. There is still a good groove in the left side of the lug.

This is the part that worries me. This is after 300 rounds.

The deformation seems to be from the bolt or bolt carrier hitting the ejector.

The last time we shot it the brass was kicking out 20 feet forward and right, just like you want it to.

Well, put me in the received a giant POS camp. I bought one used at the Indy 1500 gun show on a whim. Both times I took it to the range, after about a magazine through it, I end up a case stuck in the chamber (the rim gets ripped off the case). This is with steel cased Wolf ammo, which is basically all I shoot through my AR, my HK93, and my FS2000.

After e-mailing back and forth with Jeff a bit, he suggested polishing the chamber (which is my next task). Unfortunately, based on the pictures I sent him, he pointed out that my bolt was butchered by CAI and suggested I get a new one and then re-headspace. So, I'm in the process of hunting down a new bolt (APEX was out and I'm waiting to hear back from Sarco, so if anyone knows of a good supply, please let me know).

Hopefully, there isn't anything else wrong with this thing, as it is already starting to feel like a money pit. I really should have known better, since I've been bit by CAI before. I had a CETME that had salt water corrosion in the lower and had to be replaced and had a Bulgarian AK-74 with a corroded barrel that was so bad that rounds wouldn't chamber properly (the gun was "new" in box). They fixed both guns, but you should still not have to go through that with a gun coming straight from a manufacturer. My current rate of success with CAI guns is 4 out of 7 have been good (but of those 4, almost all were ones that were just imported and didn't need to be built). I really wish there were more companies out there that actually gave a damn about providing interesting semi-auto builds of mil surplus parts kits for an affordable price. Most people are not looking for a $2000 tack driver out of these things (if I want that, I'll get a high end AR and drop another grand on optics). Just a fun plinker for weekend shooting with cheap ammo. TNW has done a few (I have their Suomi K31 semi), but Century seems to dominate that market space, unfortunately.

Don't judge your rifle with Wolf ammo. I have a $2500 space gun that would not feed more than 3 rounds of Wolf before choking, that and a horde of other rifles that all do the same thing - rip the rim off and leave the case stuck in the chamber.

These Golanis have tight chambers and are not as loose as military, but they are also more accurate for it.

xd45,

I don't think you extractor is gonna last. I'm sure Jeff didn't like the way that picture looked right?

I'm guessing you mean ejector.

The ejector is the reason I sent the rifle to Jeff. He should receive it monday or tuesday so we'll see what he says.

Yes,

My mistake. Hopefully Jeff gives you good news. I got one Galil that shows some of the wear like you got, but only on the back underside of the ejector. It didn't start happeneing until I swapped out to a yugo bolt carrier.

It looks like my bolt carrier is hitting the ejector and that's what caused the damage on mine. Hopefully a slight adjustment so it doesn't hit is all it needs.

UPDATE: The receiver is good. Headspace is too tight and the feedramp is too low but Jeff can fix those. Shorten the barrel and refinish and GTG! :D

Sending my GLN # to Jeff this week for accuracy problems. Also will install an ARM gas block. Update with more info later.
