Seems theres not a lot of those out there from what I remember reading.
eta....
143 sold...no mention of a carbine kit that I've found yet.

Heres the Bird on a regular upper.

Or could it be that a previous owner switched upper receivers with a carbine barrel? Just a thought.

Scott

I have been thinking that as well.
But

This front sight is like No other That I own. The wood has its own odd
shape and whatever those holes are in the bottom.

Just trying to confirm what it actually is as He wants to move it to a new owner.

Cruised through the Mac Man Book and came up empty.

There was one other company that used the same Bird but they were very short lived.
Doesn't match the movie guns that are shown.

Blood trail is getting cold.....

Give this one last Bump hoping for a positive ID.

Its looking more like a homebrew but theres probly still lots of info out there thats Not in the Book.

Maybe one of the seasoned members remembers the Story on this one.

That is a home workshop set up, like others have said, it is a Hatton industries/JAWS upper receiver. Someone used a Thompson front grip and made a carbine barrel with a home workshop front sight. Can’t see if the upper is the striker fired semi auto version (rails on the inside) or the open bolt “SMG” version (no rails). Not sure what that extra hole towards the rear of the upper is. HATTON never made a carbine, this is a bubba job.

Homemade using a JAWS Avenger/Partisan upper and Thompson M1A forend and barrel it seems.

MACS certainly get some creative uppers don't they?

Front sight looks to be an M60 front sight with the top lopped off and a replacement sight of the appropriate height added. You can see the notch on the underside that was intended to allow the M60 to pivot on the bipod just so far. The forearm is definitely a modified Thompson horizontal forearm. All in all, not a bad WECSOG (Wile E. Coyote School Of Gunsmithing) job.
