For those members and guests who ordered the 3-Lug barrels from In Lead We Trust, I just received a quick reply from Rob that the barrels are in process and should be complete by next week.

I contacted Strobo32, who is #1 on the list and he let me know there had been a delay. Thanks!

In my younger years, I learned the hard way that you never rush a craftsman. Rob is getting the 3-Lug's perfected with the goal that they work with all 3-Lug accessories. As in the past, I greatly appreciate his efforts.

I'm sad they dropped the MAC shorty line. With the exception that I wish the wrench flats were wider, it was really as nice a kit as you could want.

Hi Gaujo,

I think I saw your reply before you edited it: "I'm sad they dropped the MAC line." Although it is always subject to change, I fear you were right. At last count, In Lead We Trust is discontinuing all MAC accessories. Once their inventory is gone, that could be it.

I'm happy I jumped on when I did and requested two. I know the MAC market is small but it's sad to see less competition.

Rob - Seriously man if you are able to get the 3-Lug right you should work a deal to sub-contract with a 9mm AR maker like PSA or QC10.

TROS makes a great product but the lead times are pretty long...

Sorry for the delay guys but it is worth doing as correct as possible the first time for us and that has required custom cutters and the wait associated with it.

Gaujo-
I listened to everything that was requested by people on our barrels. The latest batch of shorty 9mm and 380 m11 barrels, as well as the regular profile 380 barrels show these improvements, as requested. In the pics below you will see three of the new barrels with larger wrench flats (7/8") as well as shorter 1/2 x 28 threads on the end :D. Just finished these up today to kill all the material we had left designated for Mac Barrels, and proceeded onto finishing the 3 lug barrels. They will be done on Tuesday, I am going to test a few then list them up, most likely Thursday after putting a few thousand rounds and proofing them on Wednesday

I think it's worse to know that it was perfected and is now dead! A silent tear runs down my face.

I made 20 of each in .380 and 9mm and listed them on the site. It was the last of our material earmarked for Mac barrels.

chaosrob,

I don't check the forum frequently enough to keep up on the details of things, but it reads like ILWT does not plan to sell any 'mac' stuff in the future...and what is left in stock on the website will be it. Is this a true statement?

If so, I am curious as to why this was decided. All I have seen are glowing reviews for the three things that matter as a customer, 1. quality, 2. price, 3. customer service. And also if true, I better find some money and get my order for shorty barrels in soon.

It's not a personal thing but a business decision. The mac stuff moves super slow, if at all. Maybe we have not found the correct recipe for success with options, packaging, etc but our other barrels outsell the mac stuff at least 20:1 and the time we were spending on developing and trying new stuff for the mac was taking away from time spent on proven sellers and new product development that seems to have a much higher probability to sell in decent quantities. our barrels require a lot od time as we are not a full out production facility and each one goes through a lot of processes and time investment, I will not cut corners on them, I want to be proud of our products.

At this time we do not have any intention of further mac production but if the shorties and 3 lugs go as well as the interest seems to show then there is always the possibility of a future run, but it will be a market that is easily saturated I think. We are going to assemble a few uppers with our existing barrels and put them out there to see if that brings more interest but if it does not this line is pretty much dead.

My gunsmith threaded my m10 45 barrel to whatever the standard 45 fine thread pitch is. I think he only charged me 80 bucks. That might be why they are not selling. I don't think these barrels wear out much. So for me it's cheaper to bring it down the road and get it threaded than to buy a new barrel.

chaosrob,

Will you be PMing those interested in the barrels that posted in the thread, or how should we complete the order/checkout process?
