Used Sabre Market?

Is there any market for a M11 Sabre 556 upper that has less than 500 rounds through it? Do folks still desire this upper? I've been outta the MAC discussion for a few years and am contemplating thinning the heard. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't sold much of anything in 20 years. Usually let it collect dust. I'll probably keep it for less than $1,500 or so. I think it was $2k new if I remember correctly, possibly more. Thanks for the quick input folks!

If you keep the Sabre, are you going to use it?

Because if you don't use it, what's the point of keeping it if you could get maybe $1000 for it - what it cost when it was new doesn't matter at this point.

I've fallen for this sunk cost fallacy too, keeping stuff I never use because I couldn't sell them for what I paid for them.

I'm not saying this just so I can buy your Sabre, because I'm not in the market for one - I already have full-auto 5.56 covered with an M-16 RR.

Now I need to take my own advice and go through my guns - when I first got my Curio & Relic FFL, I went nuts buying No. 4 Enfields and Swedish Mausers.

I've fired 10 rounds through *one* of them, maybe ten years ago - that's it :silly

If I sell enough of the guns I've never fired, or haven't shot in years, I might have enough to pay for most of a MAC-10...

I doubt you'd get $1500+ out of it.

Especially not now that there are 2 other manufacturers that are making 556 uppers and still in business for when you break something and need it replaced because it's a lot harder to do when that company is now out of business.

I noticed that too. I bet he did chop the grip. It looks like he might have a bolt grip on from within. This would allow different grips. I was planning the same a while back.

Just bought a m10 Sabre nib for $1650

So there is a market for it. But 1/2 price of the lage

I think the m11 version is more rare. Should sell good at $1500

Your stuff, your choice. I mean no offence, but I find the "let it collect dust" response kind of sad. There are probably several on this Board that don't have the $3,000 for a Max-11/15 or Tenko that would love to have a S.A.B.R.E. if they could afford it. Maybe cut off the super heavy fore end, tack a AR barrel nut on the trunnion and put an AR rail which would lighten it up considerably. Again it is your stuff. If you don't get any joy from it, from my perspective you have lost all of the $2,000 you paid for it by just leaving it sitting. YMMV.

Once you drill a hole in the back for the SABRE, you're pretty well committed to it being a dedicated lower. So at that point, may as well.

Why? Can swap to any other upper or stock at any time the hole is covered by most stock options and if it really botehred you can easily have the back plate replaced
