$95 shipped.

I have a buddy over in Afghanistan who said he used it for a backup for practice and plinking.

Okay on step number 3 in the little instruction sheet....

Move the Front Holder to the original position and turn the Locking Lever back to the original position to lock it to the barrel.

I can't get this damn thing to go back to the original position for the life of me...I even completely took off the gas tube so it wouldn't be rubbing on that.

Any ideas?

Hmm.... it seems like it is going to scratch the gas tube....the instructions clearly show it being manipulated with the gas tube on though.

I've got the whole thing installed - just gotta get the damn front thing tightened back on the barrel.

Edit: Nevermind! You're right. Just took one slight tap from a hammer and it swung back in place.

:D

I stuck a scout scope I have on it and that type of optics doesn't do this gun justice. Gonna have to wait til my NCStar is off backorder for pictures.

i have one installed on my golani and it works fine. plenty of space for all different kinds of toys. my only gripe is that with a reflex scope mounted, it becomes REALLY AWKWARD to use the charging handle. i end up with rail rash of the knuckles.

i sent it out to have it smithed so the charging handle comes out horizontal like an AK. no choice on that one. tried to swap out the bolt carrier with my friends AK and it didn't fit.

the top and bottom rails bolt together via little allen screws, so I don't know if that's possible, but you could take the hacksaw to it to shorten the top.

my 2 cents

I have the UTG on my MR and the FAB that I got from John on my AA386 no question that the UTG is a lot for the money but it can't compair to the FAB.

No probles with zero after cleaning your tube, if used on a ARM you loose the ability to lock your bipon with the UTG, the FAB is just a better trouble free system.

Agree. The FAB is worth the xtra $$. No fuss no muss with the 5.56 models. Just goes on & never has to be played with even when stripping the rifle for cleaning. Even with the 7.62 Galils it just takes about 15 minutes with a file to get to fit.

:banana I just got my UTG mount at a local gun show. Cost me $80 and there was only one left. I'm so glad that I got it now. It went on easy and is very solid. Tons of rail space, maybe too much. I wouldn't rule out cutting down the top a little, it makes getting the top cover off impossible w/o removing the top of the rail assembly. A good straight cut, fine hone it with a file and get some aluminum blueing and you would never know the difference. Great product though for the money. I put the UTG on all my regular AKs too, all worked perfectly. I'm a big UTG fan now. There's some stuff better but a lot more money. Keep it up guys!

Damn, that is alot of rail space.

How do you avoid the temptation to use it all. You know, load it all up with tacticrap and make you galil look like an AR?
