This looks to be the best news in years for Uzi 22LR conversion kit owners. I ran across this over on Sturm posted by Subgun 24

"I finally have my UZI .22LR conversion magazines ready and for sale. $150 for 3 magazines plus shipping. If they don't work to your satisfaction, please return for refund."

Sturm thread: https://www.sturmgewehr.com/forums/...5-wts-uzi-22lr-conversion-40-round-magazines/

Check them out in this youtube video.

I have a brand new 22 kit that I have been putting off messing with, not anymore. My gun is a Fleming conversion with a semi trunnion and milled feed ramp. So I have to turn down the breech end and trunnion end to fit.
I also have a brand new 45 kit that needs the same thing done.

Received mine today. Loaded one with 40 rounds and then noticed the instructions say they need a break in. It says to start with 10 and work up to more, so I unloaded and put 10 in each. One ran perfect, one had two light primer fails and then worked, the third had two failures to feed due to mag (empty chamber).

Then loaded 25 in each and two worked perfect and one had a couple light primer fails and then worked. Ran out of daylight to try more, but it seems like they are smoothing out. The feed lips feel rough when loading. Hopefully use will polish them. Will work on that tomorrow.

The plastic mag body is obviously 3D printed. Rubbing your hand on it or sliding into a pocket or pouch produces a sound like corduroy. The mag catch cutout is a little rough due to pieces of the 3D printing being left behind when it was machined out, but it worked fine. They are also a little snug in the mag well. They say that will also polish with use. So far, I am happy to have metal feed lips and 40 round capacity.

I don’t have an uzi 22 kit but I do have his 22 sub cal kit for the MK-760 (it’s awesome).
As for mags being tight, I think he makes them that way to help with variances / tolerances with different magwells.
When I first got my kit, the mags were kinda tight and I kept reinserting them. After a bit, they fit like a glove and are kinda formed to you mag well (I guess you could say they break in that way too).

Just bought 6 of these. Haven't tried them yet but they seem to fit well in my Vector SMG with Vector .22 kit. I'm optimistic.

I would like to know if there is any loading device for this type of magazine, to save a little time and skin compared to loading them round-by-round by hand.

Yeah, there is/was at least one type loading aid that Vector (and maybe others) used to sell for .22LR conversion mags. It's a standard 9mm/.45 ACP mag push loader with a grooved bar welded in the center of the pushed section. It's still push by hand, but it provides easier loading when the mag is almost full.

ETA: There also was a similar one made of plastic by Christie's. When Subgun Ord made and sold .22 Uzi conversions, the Christie's loader was included.

For pics of both types, see "The Uzi Examined" on page 292.

MHO, YMMV, etc.

I ordered 6 more and when they came this week there was a loader included! It is 3D printed like the magazines. I don't see it on their website yet.

I will get my order in soon. Can you post a picture of the McFadden adapter? I didn't know such an adapter existed.
Hope it also works for the BDM mags.

Is your McFadden loader adapter different than the McFadden Lage loader adapter that sort of sometimes works with Uzi mags? With how great your stuff looks I’m assuming that it is 😀

Will your Uzi adapter also work with metal conversion or Blackdog Uzi 22lr mags or does it only work with your Uzi 22lr mags.

Thanks!
