Does anyone have any 3D Models of Uzis?
I'm a CAD engineer by profession, and will be
building some if anyone's interested; I don't want to
"reinvent the wheel" if someone has already done it.

Free viewing software is plentiful for anyone to
rotate, pan and zoom CAD models in 3D, as well
as check dimensions for builds, function diagnostics,
reference, et cetera.

Here are some UZI blueprints. (cleaned up from
the one in pdf format floating around online.)
If anyone has different / better ones, I'd be
interested in seeing them.

Here's a CAD model of an AR15 I compiled into an assembly
as an example.

Just unzip, execute, and play with showing / hiding
the different parts, sectioning, measuring, an so on.
This one is a SolidWorks eDrawing; no other software
is needed to view it.

This is what I want to do with the Uzi family.

Also, check out www.cncguns.com, a good reference for CAD firearms.

Full Size Receiver ~ Started

Due to "overwhelming response,"
I've started to model the Uzi in
3D CAD for reference / build / function
testing, et cetera. Also, it's fun.

Here it is; let me know what you think.

This is about how far the blueprints go. If anyone has anything
more extensive, you can throw me a copy and I'll incorporate it.
I'd like to have the whole weapon without reverse-engineering
my own hardware. The "as-designed" measurements are what
I'm after. Individual build dimensions can vary, and may not be
useful to everybody.

I need the top cover, sight assemblies, trigger housing and parts,
bolt, spring assemblies, furniture, barrel, and any other
prints you might have. I can get a function animation going
once the whole model is complete; a first for this weapon as far
as online availability is concerned.

Very cool!
I just wish I could play with it in a 3D cave.
I had a lot of fun early this year playing with 3D applications in a 4 sided cave.

I'm still trying to locate Uzi blueprints for this project.
Does anyone have some? I was hoping someone from Vector
or a Class 2 builder would feel like relinquishing some...

It would be for the good of all interested as a 3D reference....

Can anyone Help me with any blueprints I am an Engineer and my hoby is collecting firearms blueprints and then creating my own designs from the information I gather. I also enjoy creating AutoCAD3d and 2d aswell as master CAM drawings of the blueprints I get. I am still learning so it is good practice and the CAM, AutoCAD3d and 2d files are valuable if correct and you can make money from them but they have to be perfect. I have sold a few complete AUTOCAD3d files with CAM files attached for a decent price and I would like to do it again. I do share files with people I become mates with and who shae files in return with me.
I also put stuff on www.gunbroker.com and on www.auctionarms.com so if your looking for stuff and you dont mind spending the minimal amount of money you can get alot. I will be posting more files soon I havent done much for a while. I usually use www.auctionarms so go there and you will see some of my adds eventually.
If anyone is intrested in swapping blueprints with me of an type I am interested, but I prefer complete versions.
I am really looking for any type of machine pistol ,smg or machine gun blueprints Especially 22 caliber or 9mm. I have been looking for Micro and Mini Uzi for ages I have the conversion to select fire blueprints for the mini and I will have a conversion manual once I remember where it was. I am also looking for AK pistol and intratec dc-9 and intratec 22 blueprints I have manuals but no blueprints.
If anyone would like to help me by sending me list of blueprints they have or by emailing me their address along with some file links I will return the favour with prints and links.
If anyone is interested and can help me get a hold of blueprints of any specified gun or any other type, preferably complete prints though I will return the favour.
If anyone would like to contact me about swaping prints or if they know where I can find some more then please email me at cbhfirearmsblueprints@yahoo.com
Please leave your email address and name along with your message so I can contact you in return and possibly help you aswell.
I hope for good news soon. Thanks,
From CH18

Bolt Added to Solid Model

Bolt Added to Solid Model

Bolt.jpg

Download is here.

Check out the tabs on the left side of the viewer
to either hide or show the individual components.

Also, the software can show dimensions of edges, radii, angles,
diameters, and so forth.

Section your way through with the sectioning tool.

There are also many other "often unexplored" features to the viewer.

I hope it's useful, or at least educational...

Can someone who has blueprints for the Uzi please post them online for the rest of us Uzi fans. I have been searching everywhere for them. If someone has them they sure are not sharing them with the rest of us. I would really like to be able to machine up the internals but can not because i don't have any drawings. If the drawings were online maybe more people would make parts. The more people that make parts, the cheaper the parts become wich would benefit everyone interested by Uzi.

This thread is like 3 years old, but I've been thinking about doing this too, looks like you beat me to the punch. I'm a mechanical engineer by trade as well, and sporting a Solidworks 2011 premium license on my laptop.

If we don't have ALL the prints, I'm sure some of the small parts can be estimated by measuring our guns.

dustindu4 -

I wish you well... It's a labor of love, for sure.

A good set of 3D solid models would help the Uzi parts industry
greatly, but it seems that most people are not aware
of the potential of having them available.

I believe Richard at BWE is involved with Uzis and 3D CAD,
and might be a possible resource.

The patent drawings are good, but the actual
dimensions of each component in an IPL would be great...
