In anticipation of my approval from big brother for my RR uzi I am gathering spare parts I will need. Can somebody with more knowledge than I tell me what the difference between a like new chrome lined full auto IMI barrel and the Full Auto chrome lined barrel Green Mountain makes?

I can almost buy 2 IMI's for 1 green mountain and wanted to know if the GM was worth the price difference.

Thanks

IMI? Are you referring to the used military barrels? A lot of the military barrels are South African IIRC. If so, I'm not privy to any being chrome lined. Bushmaster supposedly had a chrome lined barrel at one time, but the military barrels are going to be non-chromed lined and used to some extent. The current GM full auto barrels obviously will be new and have threading for a flash hider.

I just bought some from uzigunparts and he told me they were like new chromed lined IMI. I am not interested in having a flash hider because I will run with a can most of the time.

Thanks again.

GM manufactures a plain muzzle Uzi barrel but currently out of stock. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend threaded barrel muzzle and thread protector to be used within Uzi mount suppressors. BarrelXchange has non-chrome NIB FN Uzi barrels that I’ve been running the last few years, extremely reliable and accurate.

I’ve really never understood penny pinching mind-set after spending several thousands of dollars on the firearm itself. It’s important to have a solid barrel for suppressors and the best method is NIB with manufacture’s warranty. Hopefully you will receive top notch barrels at a low surplus price.

I'm a cheap fukr, but I won't sacrifice quality for price. We're all after the elusive cross between a waitress and a vacuum cleaner...err, I mean, the best deal we can get. At least I am. :D
