Alright guys, I was doing a bit of research but wanted to ask if anyone can add on to it. What Countries still use the Uzi variants as a primary weapon or side arm in their infantry or special forces?

I found a few but it looks like in some of the places they have apparently made a look a like uzi and named it something different. What is all that about?

Thanks to anyone of help

Uzi's are everywhere..............

It is still in the inventory of many countries, I recently saw some photos of an honor guard of President Chavez of Venezuela all carrying Uzi's, it is in the inventory of Angola's government and the U.S. Marines embassy guards have it as an issue weapon. Truth of the matter there are thousands of them floating around everywhere..

I know last year, in Egypt, security guards for U.S. tourists carried Uzis under their black sport coats, still in use there.

German armor groups used them as the MP2 until very recently.

I was there last November but didn't spot any UZIs. Well, I take that back. Maybe a full-size somewhere along the way. I did notice the black sport coat guys carrying MP5Ks. One I saw in Luxor and the other in Giza with it in hand as he was leaning out the door of a moving train. Of course there are a lot of AKs. I was surprised to see some 870s as well.

Then there is this :)

I went to Israel last spring hoping to see some uzis but unfortunately, the majority of soldiers carried M16A2's. Only uzi I saw was a private security guy on top of Masada. He was what appeared to be, guarding a field day excursion of young kids. Almost got my picture with him, but he did not look very approachable. Funny thing is, most of the private security guys were carrying M1 carbines. Saw lots of those.
