I have been reading this thread with much interest for sometime, and I guess that I'm definitely the Old Man of this group at age 63. I purchased my first IMI B .45acp at age 61. I always wanted one when I was much younger, but it took awhile for me to get around to purchasing it. Now I have 2 IMI B 45acp with conversion kits, a IMI Mini, a IMI 9mm pistol, and a F/S Vector pistol and too many extras to go with them. I have yet to fire any of them; have shot other individuals and that way you don't have to clean them. I guess it's time to head to the range and make a day of it and burn up some ammo.

This Forum is, without a doubt, the most informative, helpful, friendly and enjoyable that I have come across. There are some interesting characters on this forum. Members and Moderators, keep up the good work!

Thanks.:allright

I never weighed in... so sorry for bumping an old thread, guys.
I'm now 45! I bought my Uzis when I was a college kid in CA (of all places).
I was a junior (20) when I bought my Model A (no one made these but IMI back then). When I turned 21, I bought my 9mm Uzi pistol. Both are in 9mm, and it took years of searching the parts out to finally have .45ACP conversions for both of these babies.

I remember a mad summer in the late 80's when a work partner wanted to trade me a Kalashnikov mfg AKS for my pistol. For a minute, it seemd like a good deal, but at the time, the Uzi pistol was already inflating in value, so I decided against the trade.

I would have regretted it to this day had I agreed to that deal.

P.S. OLDMAN said it right; This is a really great forum!

P.P.S. Currently building a Group Industries receiver into a .22LR.

38 going on 9 (as my wife would say).

I've owned a variety of guns for as long as I could legally purchase them (age) and purchased a gently used Norinco Uzi last year. I am currently awaiting the processing of the Form I so I can add the intended barrel.
