UZI Pistol Question

Would someone explain the reason that IMI changed the Trigger Guard Design on the later UZI Pistols.

The change was done for the Micro UZI. It allowed the left hand to maintain a firmer grip on the front of the trigger guard during full auto fire. Since many of the Micro and pistol parts are common, the change made it's way to the pistol as well.
